Dyel: You already made this thread, you stupid faggot.

Can we talk about how this is the shittiest imgur tier meme in a long time and OP is a complete faggot and should feel bad.

What's a good beginner routine then? I've been doing stronglifts for 3 months.
Isaiah Jones
Ignore OP but SS is better than SL just because of the availability of information that comes with it. Seriously, Starting Strengths is one of the best purchases you can make.
Colton Moore
>Starting Strengths is one of the best purchases you can make. $0.05 has been deposited into your account.
Levi Sanders
I like the stronglifts app as it keeps me focused on what I have to do and the layout is very easy. Which is a plus for a beginner like myself. Making good progress though i think.
William Sullivan
PersonalTrainingCoach app is my favourite app. Think it took it's inspiration from Stronglifts. Anyway it supports all the famous programs automatically so it's pretty neat if you ever decide to switch programs in the future.
Why do people here not like SS? Rip does a terrific job of teaching the lifts. In fact his "Basic Barbell Training" book is probably the best out there for technique. The beginner program is like any beginner program should be: a linear progression. From what I've observed on /fit people just make fun of the program. Could someone please explain this to me?
That's completely understandable. The SS app sucks. I tend to use the symmetry strength app instead. I still suggest reason the book, as it covers almost all the lifts SL use.
>pirate it if you have to

Will check it out user. Planning to do sl for another month or so and then move to something else. 3x my squat so far with sl so another month and should have a good foundation for another program.

TM is pretty good but Jow Forums posters in the powerlifting general heavily recommend 531
it's 2/3rd focused on lower body - your noob gains will all go to your legs, and you'll look like shit permanently.
also - you'll probably hurt your lower back doing nothing but DLs, Sqats and Rows
Charles Cox
>your noob gains will go to your lower body But that's not how noob gains work, you fucking Neanderthal
Jackson Hall
Post body dyel.
Robert Jones
going off of what OP posted in the picture there's no way to work out more than 3x per week (which is nothing, you can easily do 6 with proper splits, stretching, sleep, and diet) while getting the proper amount of rest before working the same muscles again. You're doing legs and pressing motion every time you're in the gym, that on it's face is dumb as fuck. You should work the same muscles in back-to-back workouts, let alone literally every time you work out. along the lines of what said
You're an idiot. You think you can't focus more on your upper body at a later point just because you start with a lower body base? Go ahead and ask me how I know you don't fucking lift.
Ethan Evans
That’s what I thought bitch.
Brandon Gutierrez
Why do people comment on stuff when they have no idea what they're talking about? SS is only 3x a week.
Ian Myers
Ive never seen such a faggot post in Jow Forums ever, not even the literal faggots posting about getting dick in their ass and getting a sex change are as fucking gay as this faggot ass post. Needless to say, kill yourself, painfully please.
Oh I thought you meant post YOUR body, my bad, user
Angel Hughes
>no Reg Park Dropped
Aiden Martin
Nah that’s you fat fuck. Lol kind of funny watching you trying to eat spaghetti though not gonna lie.
Benjamin Murphy
Learn to read, Moron. He assumed it was 4 days a week, going off of the diagram OP posted. He didn't know it's just A, B, A one week and B, A, B the next. That's why he complained that you can't "workout more than 3x a week and get enough rest"
Dylan Ortiz
why is a 5x5 program recommended here when more muscle is built doing 7,8,9 rep sets??
why do people comment when they can't even read properly. I said >there's no way to work out more than 3x per week thats a fucking inheretenly terrible program unless you're looking for something where 'omg i'm so busy i can only sped 2-3 hours per week in the gym' which is a cope because everyone has 1 hour free a day to work out if they really want to. If you're following a program that only allows a max of 3x per day, then you're not working out more days per week then you are working out which is fucking stupid for anyone who wants to follow a workout program. Also literally learn to read or kys you fucking mongoloid but either way never fucking @ me again or i'll do the latter for you
Cooper Anderson
Don't back pedal now bitch. You assumed it was 4x a week. I'm sorry you're a complete retard
Owen Harris
Nah he said 3. Reread your post newbitch.
Jordan Roberts
Where did he say 4? He said 3.
Jack Jackson
again, I say >there's no way to work out more than 3x per week to which you reply >Don't back pedal now bitch. You assumed it was 4x a week. so, again, I'll reply learn to fucking read before commenting or just straight up kys and if you ever @ me again I WILL dox you and show up at your door and knock some fucking sense into your subhuman brain
Luis Sanchez
Okay, so the hate is with the program itself and not the technique that Rip teaches. I understand and thank you for explaining user.
To be honest I took his program and just expanded it out to 5 days to separate all three lifts and throw in some lightweight accessories for each muscle group kind of like a 'powerbuilding' routine as some may call it but I always squat/dead/bench first before lower weight stuff obviously.
Josiah Ward
>To be honest I took his program and just expanded it out to 5 days to separate all three lifts and throw in some lightweight accessories for each that would be called PPL, it's not SS
David Myers
Because most of Jow Forums doesn't lift.
Elijah Cooper
>Rip does a terrific job of teaching the lifts teaching the lifts and the routine itself are 2 completely different things FUCKER
Aiden Rodriguez
Go back to your yoga class faggot
Nolan Foster
Okay fair enough. I'm never sure if people are talking about the program or the technique he teaches as a lot of people perform the technique wrong and then in particular blame the "Rippetoe Squat" and shit all over his BBT book
Jeremiah Foster
Their reasoning is stupid. "Not enough volume" so they're literally complaining about not doing more than necessary. You don't look ripped training like a bodybuilder with bitch weight. Trust me I did lvysaur.
Nolan King
>why is a 5x5 program recommended here when more muscle is built doing 7,8,9 rep sets?? Yeah, I don't get this either
James Reed
Because, you fucking kumquat, it's Starting STRENGTH, not Starting Hypertrophy.
Connor Morgan
hypertrophy and strength are not related?
Christian Perez
They’re related but not the same. World class 800m runners and marathoners do 90% of the same training but they’re still different.
Nicholas Torres
Jow Forums: I’m not going to make a valid argument ever, I’m just going to say “post body” without ever posting mine
Justin Myers
go ahead and do SS then and see how you look. it's 2/3rd lower body why the fuck would you do that?
noob gains will create a shit physique if you focus on lower body. you can focus more later, but it'll take a long time to catch up; potentially years. you should start with a focus more on upper body and take advantage of noob gains to actually look good.
first summer i seriously worked out i gained 20lbs - it's much slower after that.
>Go ahead and ask me how I know you don't fucking lift.
says the guy who never even got his noob gains.
and before you say it - i'm not posting body for you fags but i'm pretty decent shape - 6 ft 2 - 195
how do you even build muscle with such low volume?
Dominic Cooper
Is that Chinky?
Matthew Hughes
here's a protip squat mon and fri, diddly weds, alternate bench/ohp and cleans/rows or accessories. training isn't complicated you faggots.
Hunter Hall
Yep, it’s the season
David Rodriguez
>Using the most reddit of all meme formats >posting some shitty template you found online made by someone who has never even touched Starting Strength and thinks that's all the exercises it includes >Being such a faggot you think you know what makes a good beginner program although you started lifting yesterday Jesus christ

Your thread is shit and you're a retard Prove me wrong
Jaxson Phillips
SS > SL because power cleans and chin ups > pendelay rows.
> see how you look Re-read the title of the book. Is it called "Starting Aesthetics"?
Isaiah Johnson
reddit fear the mark rippletoe
They only promote workouts by famous faggots from reddit
Chase Evans
its called starting strength, not starting hypertrophy
Alexander Cruz
Greyskull LP is the best, but you faggots have to remember that beginners programs aren't meant to transform the body, they are meant to teach the lifts in a safe and productive manner.
Parker Hernandez
Strength comes from muscle size and motor unit recruitment from your CNS/PNS While all weightlifting will increase both, high weight low reps is more efficient at training your nervous system and lower weight higher reps is more efficient at encouraging hypertrophy
Elijah Walker
Lvysaur 4-4-8 is unironically decent.
Adrian Lee
Holy shit haven't been to Jow Forums in a year or so, can't believe how fucking retarded you guys got. Literal dyels that can't bench 2pl8 for a single acting like they know what good programming is.
Op, just do SS or GSLP, doesn't really matter as long as it's LP. Get your bench to 2pl8 for reps and squat to 3pl8 for reps then re-evaluate. Beginner programming is LITERALLY that easy and brain dead, problem is 90% of Jow Forums are dyel niggers with no willpower to grind through LP when everyday is basically a fucking war being fought in your head and when you start to feel REAL PHYSICAL fear for your next set of squats or deadlifts.
Once you start fearing deadlifts or squats on an LP, you know you're getting close to the end of beginner shit
GSLP has sets to failure, which is neither safe nor productive for a novice. GSLP is better for hypertrophy once you have some experience, but telling a noob to deadlift to failure on their second day in the gym is a one way ticket.
Levi Gomez
Because a novice is incapable of maintaining good technique on barbell compounds for a large number of reps Because neuromuscular coordination is built when you train for strength, which is primarily done at 75% of 1RM or higher Because as a novice, literally anything will make you grow, so you might as well run a strength block before your first hypertrophy block Because proper programming has discrete phases of hypertrophy and strength with the option to include a power or peaking phase if it's appropriate for your sport.
Ryder Collins
Almost forgot You build muscle doing anything as a novice As a non-novice, the important factor in hypertrophy is progressively increasing your lift volume. When you do high sets and high reps, your body adapts to that stimulus (terms to learn about are "the repeated bouts effect" and "adaptive decay.") You resensitize yourself to volume when you run a strength block All this means that you'll get better gains if you train for both strength and hypertrophy at different times. It's like stopping for gas on a cross country road trip. You aren't moving toward your goal, but you'll get farther.
Grayson Brown
I did it and I felt safe and productive. With so much information available online on lifting its easy to practice your form.
Luke Young
this ivysaurs routine is basically SS, but focused on chest, and a bit more volume
