Getting hard to keep my motivation. I've been making myself work out at least 3 times a week for about 5 weeks now and I'm not seeing much progress. Granted this is the most active I've ever been in my life, but I thought by week 5 I'd see at least a little change. Since week 3 I've been spending at least an hour at the gym per visit. I've gone with a buddy of mine a few times and he's shown me a few things. My biggest obstacle is that once I lift to failure I can't really continue. I don't know what to do

It’s fine you’ll see progress you just won’t notice it for a while. during the winter all I did was lift and everyone noticed after a few months but I never saw much improvement in myself

I was really tired at the gym for some reason, failed my bench. I just didn’t have the energy. Getting a long nights sleep today so I don’t have the same thing happen today.

Best thing to do is enjoy going to the gym try talking to yourself and telling yourself you have a lot of energy

Yeah idk I just was really lethargic. Might start using caffeine pre workout to give me an energy boost

Just learned today that mass gainers are retarded despite using them since I started lifting in April. Luckily I’ve made gains and I didn’t gain any noticeable amount of bf% so I switched to normal protein powders. Still making gains though.

That’s the point of lifting to failure. You can’t continue. Start with compound lifts then after failing those move to accessories. As long as you’re increasing the weight/reps every week you are making progress user.

how do you manage to calm yourself after an intense evening or night workout if you are expecting to go to bed in 2 or 3 hours?
