A small/sensible serving of caffeine is fine, maybe even healthy. It's only a problem if you develop a crippling addiction, as in you can't get out of bed without 400mg and you get headaches if you don't re-up every hour.
In a perfect world, we'd all sleep enough, hydrate adequately, and have a good amount of energy. The reality is that I need to slave for Mr. Shekelstein five days a week, and sometimes I need a cup of coffee to get some monotonous bullshit off my desk. The key is not to let your usage escalate to a point where you live your life around caffeinating yourself, stop consuming it in the middle of the day so you can sleep, and don't buy 500 calorie sugar bombs from starbucks.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe not everyone is affected by caffiene exactly the same way? That some people naturally have higher or lower tolerances, or that some people build a tolerance faster or slower than others? If I have even any caffiene at all, my tolerance shoots up by the next morning and takes 3-7 days to return to baseline, depending on how much I've had. I always need more caffiene than I had yesterday for the same effect. Needless to say, I had to quit. I don't sit on a high horse and judge others though because I get that this isn't normal, and that most people can have 1-3 cups every day and be fine. I can't though. It fucking sucks.
