you probably dont have anything to lose. if you do lift you'll lose a lot of muscle though
youre a fucking idiot if you think fasting for a month would actually help your body. focus on fixing your body composition by lowering your daily intake of calories and count macros. get at least 80 g of protein a day, and maybe look into intermittent fasting. dont lose your muscle like a fucking fag, and work out every day

People have reported feeling amazing while fasting and if fasting doesn’t acrually make you lose significant amounts of muscle why not?

No, let your body get into that shape over time. And it'll take a while to get fit again. Just lower your daily intake of calories and work out. You don't need to be autistic about losing weight.
your body will burn through just about as much muscle as it would fat, and since you cant consume protein on a fast you wont have anything preventing muscle loss. literally just look into intermittent fasting for weight loss, consume lots of protein and work out. youll still lose muscle but if you want to lose your chub you have to be willing to look like a skelly for a while until you can bulk again

OP check out the archive and look through the latest /fast/ thread. Proper fasting with electrolytes will burn through more fat than muscle. Some muscle, yes but mostly fat. If your body burnt through equal parts fat and muscle you would never be able to gain any.
Would getting some protein help avoid that partial muscle loss?

Definitely safe so long as you listen to your body and get your electrolytes in. A good long fast has a number of profound health benefits outside of weight loss as well.

99% of people fail caloric deficits. Studies show prolonged calorie deficits just continue to get harder mentally.
Cut 500 calories for 6 months lapse, balloon, start over another 6 months, think about food constantly, crave fucking everything.

Please don't listen to these people who are saying fasting isn't healthy. It's a great way to lose weight, and the growth hormone released from being in a fasted state is muscle sparing, so you will not lose as much muscle as you think. Given your size, I think a longer term fast like that is doable. Just drink water and make sure to get your electrolytes: sodium, potassium, magnesium.

You can lose fat without losing any muscle, and you can actually lose fat and gain muscle simultaneously.
How long have you been lifting seriously? Because depending on how experienced you are affects how much of a deficit you can be on and still gain muscle.
Eat at a 20-25% caloric deficit to your TDEE, while eating enough protein, 0.75-1g/pound of body weight, i like to have too much than too little. and also follow a workout plan AND do daily cardio, not just to lose fat but for health too. 20 minutes a day of biking/jogging.
