My beard and eyebrows are constantly flake city like pic related. Anyone dealt with this problem before? Also, general skincare thread.
I have tried: >Moisturizing daily/twice daily >No moisturizer at all >Exfoliating daily/every other day >Not exfoliating at all >Showering daily >Showering every other day >All combinations of the above I don't ever put my face directly under the shower. I don't ever use soap on my face. My exfoliator, shaving cream, and moisturizer are all alcohol-free. I shave every other day and it's worse when I have a beard. I noticed that this only became a problem after I started showering at night, and I am unwilling to switch back.
I'm just about at my wit's end. What the fuck is wrong with my skin?
I have the exact same problem gets worse after I shave. Was diagnosed with sebhoreic dermatitis. Do you ever get the flakiness on your chest area or behind the ears or by the nose? Use kefzol shampoo once a week mines gone now but I stopped shaving now I just trim my beard

It's only on my face, specifically anywhere that hair grows on my face. My scalp is really bad as well but I figured that was a separate issue. I did get this really weird red rash thing out of nowhere last week, it's mostly healed now but you can kinda see it still. That's the first time it's ever happened and I've been fighting flakes for years now so idk about eczema.
I always had a terrible facial skin especially on my already ugly nose, is that even possible to get rid of these? I don't mind having a routine but I have no idea of what to do.
You could always try one of these, they're made specifically for removing blackheads. They do grow back over time so you'll need to maintain them but it's not too bad.
I only use it for popping an occasional pimple these days, blackheads are a part of a perfectly normal skin texture, extracting them doesn't really work for more than a few days and you will likely just end up getting permanent crater scars on your nose after a while.

are you asian? you have an asian face.

that isn't acne those are sebaceous filaments. they are harmless, genetic and can only ever be reduced in appearence. the method that worked for me was oil massage once per day (changes to me could be felt after a few days). look up oil cleansers or make your own.
I tried it once and it messed up my skin for weeks, I don't know how to use it properly so I'll avoid it.
Thanks I'll look it up.

I use rose hip oil. I have acne prone skin, and any blemishes that pop up disappear the next day. You also might want to get a water filter for your shower. That helped too.
I've had that same issue but it was above my right eye. Only occurs during cold weather I've noticed. There's literally nothing wrong with this pic. They're natural and they are needed to keep your nose moisturized or it will look like OP's pic. They're not blackheads everyone has them if you zoom into them. blackheads are way bigger

Not exactly related to OP but STOP USING CHEAP SHIT I’ve used those generic 3 bucks a piece L‘Oreal for men “““moisturizers“““ and face washes and they fucked up my skin more than they helped.
Eli Reed
This is true, most cheap products contain "mineral oil" and that is basically petroleum derived. Jojoba oil and rose hip oil is supposed to be very close to the make-up of your skins natural oils. That is what I would recommend.

No I am hwite, however the op pic is pretty much what my face would look like if I didn't touch it for 2 days. is me

1. How long have you tried each method. Do note for some products it doesn't show results until about 2 months. Not only that, depending what products you use you may be purging (skin going through breakouts before clearing up) 2. What is your skin type? Oily? Combination? Dry? This will help determine what products will help or hurt you 3. Only exfoliate once a week or once a month if it's a heavy exfoliate. Else you're going to cause micro-tears in your skin if you do it too much and dry your face out.
Just get a girlfriend. They have a weird compulsive desire to extrude blackheads from your nose. They don't do it right off the bat, but it starts somewhere between them being comfortable enough to fart around you and being comfortable enough to take a shit while you're brushing your teeth. When it gets to that point, the relationship has plateaued, you either got to marry them to reach the next stage, or dump them.

mineral oil is great for skin

Somewhere between oily and combo. I don't know exactly how long. I did daily lotion + weekly cleanser pretty consistently for a couple years. Since then I have kinda drifted from thing to thing. I kinda assume that once I find the right thing it will work immediately.
Pic rel is what I'm using every other day. Seems pretty gentle, almost more of a cleanser, no major scrubbage going on. Can't find a pic of the back label so here: >Water, Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) Seed Wax, Sorbitol, Laureth-4 Carboxylic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Ethylhexylglycerin, Acrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (bergamot) Fruit Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (lavender) Oil, Fragrance, Sodium Hydroxide, Menthol, Polyquaternium-39, Disodium Edta.
Get a chlorine filter for your shower and go see a dermatologist.

It's literally refined crude oil. Its too oily and isn't the same viscosity as the skins oil. This will cause your pores to block and your skin will stop its natural oil production. So you'll end up with blotchy skin, and acne.

Do you drink enough water, user?

Try a foam cleanser and something that does not have fragrence in it if possible. You mentioned flaking so look for a mask with Hyaluronic acid and do that once a week. As for a moisturizer, CerVe is bretty good and a fav among people and dermatologists. Try this for at least a month consistently and see if it gets you anywhere. If anything you put on your face burns, stop using it. Tingling is fine but burning will do more damage than good.
Parker Butler
buy this, rub it into problem areas during shower, leave it on for whole shower than remove it with a hand towel. had problems like yours OP since i went on accutane as a teen, this is the only thing that works
Stop shaving with a bladed razor and stop washing your face so much and never with products. Your skin is clearly super dry, you need to let it produce it’s natural oils.
Brandon Thompson
The anons saying don’t use cheap stuff are 100% correct.
I’ll add that quality skin care products not only work but they also last much longer. I use a daily lotion (Clark botanicals Marine Creme) that is $100 but lasts 6 months.
For absolute pristine skin, you need to purchase, and use regularly, the full spectrum of skin products.
The skincare thread in /cgl/ will have a lot more info and help. The girls there won't cry about you being a man either because they want everyone to look good. Just ignre the Korean routine, that's some over the top dedicated stuff that requires much research and product know-how.
bruh you have seborrheic dermatitis guaranteed. I've got the same shit and if you go to a dermatologist they can get you some prescription stuff for both face and scalp that will clear it up.
The bad news is that it's not something you can cure and you're got this for the rest of your life. Do yourself a favour and start going to a dermatologist so they can put you on the right path to control this.
Trust me on this, I was in the exact same situation for 10+ years and only recently went to the doctors, it completely changed my life.

The dude mentioned he over-exfoliates and over-washes his face. It's over drying his skin.
Kayden Jones
also if you can't go to a dermatologist for financial reasons or can't make if for a long time, there are a few products that can help a lot.
For scalp use nizorol every 2 days, lather in and leave for 5 minutes, keep water luke warm or cold as hot water exacerbates the issue.
For face I used a combination of CeraVe Salic Acid cream and A-Derma Dermalibour+ Repairing Cream overnight to help the skin grow and seal properly. The CeraVe will keep it moisturized and in decent shape but you'll need to apply it twice a day
Liam Gutierrez
he said it's worse when he has a beard, that's 100% seborrheic dermatitis because it flares up due to the oil on the follicles
Cameron Nguyen
Lies faggot, you're not white. That's an asian beard pattern.
