Home Gym

I want to start a comfy home gym since my schedule makes it hard to get to gyms at a time where it's not packed. I know all my options are fairly pricey but i wanted to know whats the closest to cheap i can go without shit breaking on me and what websites and brands you guys recommend. I mostly just need help with a good barbell and weights, hopefully in a set.
I was also wondering if you guys thought this was good.

Whats your budget?

about 1000 for now, but 2000 in a month

How much space do you have? Let me find my excel spreadsheet i made for my future home gym. I'd say wait until you have 3k and buy then or wait until black Friday and get shit on sale.

The BUFF Dudes YouTube has some decent homemade equipment. A Squat rack made with 4x4s is pretty sturdy as long as you're not going for 4 plate squats and dropping them.

That would be fine for now, if you're just starting out it should be about 6 months before you need more weight for deadlifts
Titan products are the next step up from that, looks like about $200 for their intro level bar and $100 for two 45lb plates

Heres what I picked out though you can modify as you like.

Bar rogue ohio power bar cerekote - $325
Rogue r-3 power rack - $695
Rep fitness pr-5000 bench - $150
Rep equalizer iron Olympic plates 255lb st plus extra 45lb pair -480
Rogue dedlift jack - 165
Homemade deadlift pltform - 200

Al together should come out to 2k not including tax and shipping

Pic related for $30 is virtually all you need.

Do you have any idea how much shipping is? It's a lot and deffinitly plays into the cost. That's why rogue isn't worth it in terms of weights, racks, etc. Get a titan fitness rack, mine is solid, cheap, and free shipping. Rogue is good if you don't have a budget and willing to pay a premium

Rogue is wayyyy overpriced and you don't need a rack with a 1000lb load capacity

You dont need a deadlift jack. You can just roll the bar over a 5kg plate

>buy le epic roague gear!!!!

get yourself a barbell, plates, a rack/stand, and a bench. then from there, buy things as you need them to keep improving your gym (fluff like rings, kettlebells, dumbbells, conditioning tools, nicer rack, specialty bars, etc).

look used at first, then if nothing's available look into Rep Fitness, Titan, Rogue, etc. Depending on your needs Rogue is probably overpriced for but you'll never need to replace it

Cope more poorniggers

lol my home gym is probably nicer than yours. I have 300kgs of Uesaka Atlanta Series bumpers and an Eleiko wl bar. OP said his budget is 1000-2000 dollars, so I assumed Rogue would be out of his range at this point. Either way a more expensive rack won't make you lift more, I see tons of basedboys on Instagram with massive Rogue home gyms with all the bourgeois banners and brand bullshit and they can't even squat 3plaet

I come from old money and I'm responsible with it, while you waste money on rogues marketing expenses to be like your favorite youtuber

Lol everyone is triggered by rogue. I literally cheaped out on every thing else. That was also my ideal list from a year ago. If you dont want to buy new just check the boneyard. I also told him to wait. I dont trust titan chink steel.
Jelly of the bumpers. Though im not a powerlifter. Though you can fuck off with your """bourgeois""" bullshit.

Post checking account

This is why I'm probably buying rogue for my next rack. I just don't trust the chinese steel.

Honestly, just get Rogue ohio power bar and maybe weights. You can buy other stuff for cheaper, comes to same.

11-guage steel is 11-guage steel wherever it comes from. The problem you're likely to get with a chinese rack is stuff like scratches, poor finish, or it won't be level/straight. Companies like Rep or Fringe have pretty good quality control but Titan is definitely a dice roll. I have a lot of random bits and pieces from Titan and they all work, but I would never buy a bar or a rack from them.

Also when you buy competition bumper plates, they are all literally made in the same Chinese factory, including Rogue's bumpers. Only difference is which logo is painted on.

Hahahaha

"I come from old money" spoken like a true moron. My guess is you've got a family story about how your great grandfather once had a successful business. You don't have any money and you and I both know it, because only a retard who's broke would say something as stupid as "I come from old money"

tax and shipping from Rogue is gonna ad like 800 to the order lmao

I have heard of numerous incidents of chinese steel fracturing due to defects in the smelting process. But yeah I don't care about the bumpers at all, I just don't want the rack to fail when I load it.

You're typing exactly like a guy that wanted to argue with me last night, call me paranoid but I truly believe people are employed to troll this site to keep morale low.. I showed proof over and over and he moved the goal posts every time.. if I showed my account you'd say I used inspect element, if I time-stamped my toys youd say the timestamp is shopped, if I linked you to the family member that made a fortune you'd say it's some random guy.. it's just not possible to get through to people like you because you would never think of admitting you're wrong

Post gym with timestamp

Post your suicide with timestamp

Imagine spending 3000$ on equipment instead of paying 10$ a month for a gym.
>b-but it'll pay for itself on 30 years!
lol

>imagine waiting in line for a squat rack
>imagine having to share the room with a bunch of people who don't even lift
>imagine getting kicked out for deadlifting too loud

poor hopeful shut-in fit to be here
decided to buy, i think its called a power rack, and a new bar and some used plates. but bad reviews have help me back from getting the rack. what do i get, i want to do pull ups and lift with it, and i should definitely get mats underneath right?

how much do you want to spend? which rack did you look at? yes get mats, horse stall mats will work well, you can get a 4x6 mat at a farm supply store for like 40 bucks

it isn't, i have a set of bumper training plates and a eu steel wl bar, cost half as much as eleiko, i've lifted with both, and the difference is almost non existent
though this was 4 years ago so maybe their prices have gone up.

Rogue isn't "overpriced" but they aren't entry level, either. Most guys need to start lifting at home ASAP and can upgrade to Rogue products later

t. Planet Fatness """gym"" goer

Old money has the class not to share financials. The only type of people who brag about what is in their checking account, is people who have very little in savings and long term investments. Very vulgar.

buy my program goy

The link you posted is good value. I bought a similar set.
A lot of people here keep going on about getting bumper plates. Bumper plates aren't necessary if you aren't performing Olympic weightlifting moves every day.
For deadlifts you'll be fine with iron plates from your link and rubber floor matting.

For 1k you can get a lot. You don't need to buy commercial gym equipment rated for +1000lbs. My eBay cage is solid and perfect for my needs. Nothing I lift inside the cage surpasses 160kg (350lbs).
Also get a pair of adjustable dumbbells. Mine go from 5kg-40kg. (11-88lbs)

I have that same weight set OP. Have had it for years. It's solid.

>Rogue isn't "overpriced"
Yes they are overpriced for the average person who doesn't compete in lifting sports. Great for competitions, and commercial gyms where they get a lot of use/abuse. For a personal home gym setup they are massive overkill.

Rogue weights are not meant to be used by the average person so why are you saying a product that isn't marketed towards regular people is overpriced for them? That's like saying a Telsa car is overpriced for the average person, those cars aren't even marketed towards the average person so what the fuck are you saying moron?

>OP is an average guy
>People recommend him rogue equipment
>I say the rogue equipment is expensive and overkill for a regular guy.

What's the big problem cunt? Calling me the moron because I don't recommend rogue. Piss off ya fucking rogue shill dickhead.

Just buy a barbell, 100kg of weight (or more if you are strong), a fitness bench/seat (to do bench press and skull crushers) and a pull up bar.

If you like a rings or a dip bar too

Its all you need.

Just do old school trainning with one barbell: bench, deadlifts, squats, weighted pull ups
