Yeah
I'm starting to, trying to figure out how to breathe while doing laps
I have to buy a swim cap first...
>hold breath until you're about to surface, instead of constantly exhaling
>rotate your torso, not just your neck
>keep your head underwater when you rotate your torso, so your mouth is the only thing above water
>don't rush; go slow
>breathing is more important than going fast
no I read a thread on Jow Forums that the jew puts chlorine in pools to shrink the white mans balls
so I only go to natural bodies of water
i do
this user is spot on.
based
Not as regularly as I'd like to, but I just went again today.
I needed to read this. Picked up swimming again and instead of trying to rush from end to end I just focus on my movements and realize I can do a lot more laps without feeling fatigued. Def more enjoyable and still feeling that good soreness the day after.
I always end up getting water in my mouth, but I'll keep practicing
me too, not sure how people do it
I keep getting exhausted after one lap. I haven’t gone all year
swim does coke as a preworkout.
anyone have any experience with this?
This was my best time yet for 500m. I still have plenty of room for improvement too!
you can do it
Played waterpolo for 5 years
Check if your local pool has private lessons. Two or three of those should help point you in the right direction in being able to progress effectively through lane swimming.
Any place that has some resources on how to swim properly?
I'm afraid that my form is all fucked and I'd like to fix that.
Want to know this as well. Have a bunch of training sessions from when I was a pleb at the gym that I realized I didn't need but not a single trainer knows shit about swimming.
I haven't for a few years but when I get access to a lap pool I always do
Used to but pool water is gay homosex and don't have convenient access to natural bodies of water
swam for 17 years of my life, got bored of it, just stick to judo and cycling now
I want to get into swimming but I never got to learn how to swim crawl.

or just look up stuff that you have trouble with and try to incorporate the stuff you learn online one session at a time. its impossible to learn correct technique instantly. theres so many small things you need to implement into your swim and you cant pay attention to all of them.
takes a lot of time. kinda like getting the perfect squat. also, dont just fuck around and swim laps without purpose, look up practice programs.
I was told to constantly exhale.
I was told to turn my neck.
I was also told to constantly exhale. which is it?
Wait i thought you were supposed to exhale at a constant slow rate up to your next breath?
>ISHYGDDT
You are, steadily. Followed by a large nasal exhale upon surfacing to inhale w mouth
if i had my own pool, i would swim. but since i don't and most pools has a shitton of people on it, i avoid swimming.
Can't find a good pool.
When you open your mouth to breathe try to open only the side exposed to air, the way you do when you're trying to burp discretely while there is someone sitting next to you
no way fag. besides the pool's closed
I'd say constantly exhale if you have the lung capacity to do so. Think about sprinting. If you're moving your arms as fast as you can breathing every three, you're not going to have time to fully exhale if you're doing so right before your third stroke. If you're trying to go distance underwater then yeah obviously hold your breath until you're ready to surface.
