Old Jow Forumsizen popping back in. Haven't frequented this board since 2010-2013, but it seems as toxic as back in the day. I'd like to offer some advice in case there are anyone here like I used to be back in the day. Take it or leave it. Maybe it'll help or maybe it won't. I don't give a shit.
>Lifting for a better body won't make you happy. Working out because you enjoy it will. Weight loss and a nice physique is just a huge bonus. But work out 2-3 times a week, and do your cardio. Eat well. >People will like you once you learn to let go. Be yourself, unashamedly. It will make you interesting. There are few interesting people out there. Dare to be yourself, and speak up. >As a man, life will be significantly better once you're close to your 30's, given that you've spent a lot of time on your studies, your line of work, and your hobbies. Be the guy that people ask for help and guidance. Find purpose. >Lifting and dressing nice is only a small part of the bigger picture. A nice haircut, simple hygiene, an easy smile, being able to make good conversation and being nice to everyone will take you to the promised land. Talk to everyone, treat them well. Friends and enemies. >Opportunity will only be granted to you once you take on the responsibilities of life, and start saying yes. People will never stop offering you opportunities once you prove yourself as a pair of safe hands.
Discipline, motivation, force of personality, unshakeable confidence, strength and tenacity will bring you all the happiness in the world. Never be afraid of failure, but let it keep you on your toes.

That's only five years ago...
Still I'd like to add - comfort is the enemy of progress. Keep changing things up, live in a few different cities, study hard, respect yourself, and know that everyone else is going through the same shit as you. Nobody has it figured out.

Five years are a lot in your mid 20's. During that time I finished up my master's degree in chemistry, learned French, kicked up my interest in Roman history and started doing well in my new job. But I completely agree with you. Comfort is the worst you can put yourself through.

If you've already applied these principles to your own life, then good for you. Not everyone has.

>Find purpose Overall this is true but is easier said than done. >Working out because you enjoy it Different folks, different strokes >Life will be significantly better once you're close to your 30's Life will be better once you man up and do what needs to be done. There is no age requirements for success and happiness.
