What’s the difference between intermittent fasting, water fasting, dry fasting, etc.?

How do I safely do an extended fast?
>Take snake juice, or just supplement electrolytes.
>Water=2L
>Potassium chloride =1 tsp (No Salt)
>Sodium chloride = 1/2 tsp (Himalayan Pink Salt)
>Sodium Bicarbonate = 1 tsp (Baking Soda)
>Magnesium Sulphate = 1/2 tsp (Food Grade Epsom Salts)
>Mix these in 2L of water and sip it throughout the day.
>[OPTIONAL] 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar and 4 tbsp lemon juice. DO NOT MIX with snake juice, drink separately.

Been finishing extended fasts since /fast was on day 60. This time will check in everyday to not lose focus. Wish me luck, it's never too late.

Has anyone tried green tea on a fast? I imagine it won't hurt the fat loss much given that it's pretty much calorie free, but I'm curious to see what other effects it could bring. Tried it this morning starting a 36hr fast. I might report back if anything noteworthy happens.

Sounds inefficient. Fat is only 10% water while muscle is something like 75% water. Not saying you're wrong, just is a bit surprising.

I drank some ACV+LJ before a meal to help my digestion and I drank it through a straw to avoid contact with the teeth but I think it burned my throat a bit at a spot.
You are going to feel like shit. If you lift, do so even more conservatively, don't even get to the point where you break a sweat. If you get past day one you're going to feel better (no personal experience here, I fucked up by lifting too much once and I've been pussying out since)
While Cole says to hell with science and just throws shit to the wall and sees if it sticks, some prefer the studies. DeLauer has some vids I think, you might be able to find some sources there

It definitely won't hurt fat loss. Most people wouldn't consider it breaking a fast.

Go off of how it feels for you. I avoid caffeine when fasting because it dramatically ramps up hunger pains when my blood sugar goes down a few hours after consumption.

Went down from 232 to 210 in about a month /fast/. Feels good but i need to get down to 180. Lowest ive ever been was 189.

What is the matter with you guys. I swear im the only in /fast/ who does IF. are you guys just about to hit 8 percent bodyfat or something is that why you do these?

They're fat asses who want to drop a lot of weight quickly without working out.

But working out contributes little to weightloss (alone vs fasting alone) and you can still work out while fasting.
I started with IF a bit at first but decided to bite the bullet and start extended fasting. I've since been doing them longer and more often but I do plan to start OMAD once I get lean enough, eating at or slightly below maintenance.
When I start bulking though I am going to need to switch to IF if not ditch fasting altogether. I'll probably try DeLauer's method as well as Cole's

You'll be able to tell because fasting will become harder and harder. The point is to eat as rarely as possible. If you can eat once a month, do that. If you can eat once a week, do that. If fasting more than 3 days makes you feel like shit, don't fast for more.

I was trying intermittent fasting for about a week, 20h fast, 4h feed. The problem that I kept running into were some pretty severe headaches. Decided to stop. Can anyone give me some tips to get rid of fasting headaches?

How does fasting work for someone who's skinnyfat, but is lifting 3/4 times a week? Do I just not eat on my days off and only eat on the days I workout?

Not recommended. You gotta be careful. If you exert yourself too much you could really fuck yourself up. Dehydration/dry fasting is super stressful on your body so you piling cardio is asking for trouble.

it's usually not prolonged periods of no water, it's when you lose a ton of water in a short period due to sweating/sickness/etc and your body can't adapt fast enough to keep working

I'm a cart pusher at walmart, I fasted 2 days, at the end of the second day I literally couldn't walk (You walk ~13 miles a day doing that job) probably because of electrolyte deficiency/ vitamin D and calcium. If I drink snake juice, take D3/calcium and supplement with magnesium will I be fine? I did that but today I felt it coming on and just ate some stuff because being able to do my job is more important than another 1000 calories in my deficit...

About halfway through have a pinch of pink salt with a glass of water. You literally have about a pinch, if you want to visualize it imagine 1/8th of a teaspoon, maybe even a bit less.

I do the same and I feel better in about 20 minutes. You use any more salt than that and you will get the shits.

Hey guys I'm a little concerned for my ability to tell if I am full or not.
I've been fasting for 3 days on 1 day off for the last 6 weeks and now, regardless of how much food I've eaten, I feel intensely full all the time.
I am pretty extremely overweight (38.1 BMI) but at this point I feel like I am actually incapable of eating comfortably, it's like a chore now.

Pic is me. The left was actually sometime last year, before December. I didn't lose weight through fasting though, it was actually DNP, but that was before I knew about fasting and wanted to live a very healthy lifestyle. The right picture is me after gaining all my weight back. I look similar to that picture now. I'm at 204Ibs.

My goal weight is 150Ibs. Could I get there in 2 months of fasting? And what do you all think about my weight at 184? I did see some loose skin, but I was still clearly fat. Maybe it isn't really loose skin after all.

I'm going for the big one, boys. Eating my final meal just now and will be fasting for the entire month of July.

Even with an increased water intake I always get a super dry and irritable mouth when I fast. Gum really helps.

Depends how long you went without, I find myself more sensitive after a long fast. I like spicy shit but couldn't stomach stuff I normally find mild. Similarly, soda was way too sweet. It's like a reset for your palate
