New boxer tips?

Yeah so I just got a heavy bag and some gloves and I've done a couple heavy bag workouts where I punch different combos and stuff for like 30 minutes. Now my wrists are sore and I dont want to fuck up my hands or wrists and get tendinitis. Do I need to wraps my wrists if I'm wearing gloves? Anyone with knowledge can give me some tips?

Just shadow box without a bag

I've been doing heavy bag shit for a couple months so I'm no expert.

Learn how to wrap your hands and wrists correctly, I didn't and now my power side wrist is fucked.

Time yourself, try going for a 5 minute round, then 2-5 then 3-5.

Learn proper form on the basics first, then start stringing them together. Learn how to throw a hard shot (waist and foot work).

Michael Jai White has great videos on boxing.

Shit is fun man, that's my only cardio and I love it so far.

no

Yea you need wraps. That's the reason ur wrists are sore. Go to a boxing club every now and again. They'll be happy to teach you. When you feel confident enough ask to spar, they'll know you're a novice and they'll take it easy on you,. The last thing they want to do is hurt you. Until then just keep letting rip on the heavy bag, it's brilliant cardio.

I was boxing with one of my buddies who is probably the toughest in our group and I got a lucky punch in his sternum and put him on the ground. I felt like rocky

Haha nice one. Go to a club, you might go all the way. You never know.

Focus on form over power. You don't need to throttle the bag until you can throw a punch without injuring yourself. Wrap your hands proper. It'll help support your hands, and keep you from rolling your wrists as much.

Everyone tells me I have high potential in boxing but I would rather be a filmmaker and it depresses me what do

Why not become the champion of the world so you can bank role your film making career. I can picture it now... Ex world champ lightweight user makes an absolutely shit film.

>Lightweight
Wait... How did you know my weight

Can any user help me? I went to the boxing gym almost 2 months ago, I punched wrong once and now I have this pain in my wrist

Same, also with wrestling. I box already and people are excited for my inevitable first match. I think the gym I go to wants to advertise it since they asked me to tell them when I have my first match. Also they’re getting a punching bag for me so that’s nice of them.

Same. Especially since i live in boxing retard country Sweden. But I feel no motivation at all in boxing anymore. Only the thrill of sparring but the fucking grind to be good is not my thing. Gonna go down the /sci/ path instead. I say do what your mind is in but never give up exercise cause that is what breaks you.

Nice to see two fit bros in the same predicament

Join a boxing gym. People who want to learn how to box at home are like people who do 100 push ups before bed. Never going to make it.

Train stamina and cardio for your sparring sessions

same but with sprinting

im a naturally medium low 10 guy in the 100 meters as rare as it sound but i dont give a shit about sprinting instead i shitpost on /fit and get drunk on weekends

Do I need to wraps my wrists if I'm wearing gloves?
Yes you dungus
Anyone with knowledge can give me some tips?
A couple:
-always keep your guard up even when you tired af if doing head movements (do not be a mayweather wannabe)
-keep the opponent hand up and on your cheek when striking
-elbows down ALWAYS
-use move your hips to strike harder
-learn to breath between punches
-strike as if you where trying to reach something behind the bag, go through it
-practice snap punches especially with jabs
-visualize your opponent in the bag do not just punch
-if you can't make a clear visualization watch some boxing fights, specially old ones
-use the rest times to practice your head movement or something related do not just stand there
-wrap your fucking hands in a confortable way, the wrap will adjust later
-strike with your first two knuckles
-vertical hook for impact, horizontal hook for knockout
-hooks, jabs and cross to the height of your tip nose
-roll your shoulder all the way up to cover your chin when jabing and right crossing
-upper cuts comes from the hip but the hand never goes lower
-3 rounds of good form is more than enough if you're an average joe
-sandbags are great stress reliefe but do not make it your only relief

-keep the OPPOSITE* hand up and on your cheek WHILE* striking

Wrap your wrists retard. Do you have a coach? A sparring partner? Not much point in boxing without those two. Also, fit is the worst place to ask for boxing advice. Boxing is all cardio, speed, and technique. Strength means shit all. Your squat means shit all. Go run, jump rope, and do a bunch of push ups. Then, sign up at an actual boxing gym and wrap your fucking hands you autist fuck.

Do both retard. The chances of you going pro in boxing are pretty low and it's a shitty career unless you're at the top of the heap. Just do amateur boxing for ten to fifteen hours a week and put in a normal 40-60 hr work week like the rest of us.

monzon is my idol

>-strike as if you where trying to reach something behind the bag, go through it
nah you gotta hit it like a whip, have that snap in your punches

should boxers do weightlifting?

Yes. Wrap your hands fool.
