>be me >chest/back day >tired as shit but going ham bam thank ya mam >start rows >begin thinking I’m a Viking rowing a nordic ship across the open seas >instant surge of power
Anyone else do this? I figured it’s similar to a mom lifting a car that is trapping their kid but fuck man this shit gets me PUMPED
Nah man it seems pretty natural to find different ways to hype yourself up in the gym
Jonathan Collins
Pitiful imaginationlet.
Thomas Sullivan
do it all the time bro. usually when i’m running. i pretend i’m a caveman chasing a deer, or running away from wolves, or some autistic shit like that. who cares, if it gives you an extra boost, do it.
Parker Powell
I imagine the iron is my depression, so I push it back up, knowing full well it will push me back down again.
I imagine I'm a socially inept 6/10 guy who is too undisciplined to study or take on adult responsibility and cope by moving big weights around for self validation.
Did they ever actually fight without a shield wall formation? It always looks like suicide charging pell mell into battle like that.
Joseph Baker

Easy man you’re hitting a little to close to home. I’m not trying to commit die tonight.
John Parker
>sometimes work in with gymwife, she'll follow along my routine on random days [shes a casual powerlifter] >always add 5lb to my PRs when working with her, think its the sex drive test boost i kinda try to egg her into working with me on overhead press days for this reason desu
Hunter Gutierrez
Ah shit I should pretend I'm a black man running from the cops. Maybe that's why the blacks are always beating me in track and field.
Jason Richardson
>be me >doing overhead press >imagine myself lifting a gate open with the sheer strength of my frail human body as my fellow countrymen flood the enemy castle
Leo Anderson
>Thunderstruck starts playing >instantly climb 2 grades harder
Parker Long
I think of the pitfighting scene in the original Conan movie all the time. Always gets me motivated.
Liam Carter
Doing this from now on
Connor Miller
When I was younger I would motivate myself when I was struggling by telling myself that I was descended from Romans and Vikings.
Leo Gutierrez
Shit nigga are you me? Additionally I listen to Wardruna or other Nordic folk bands, other autistic thing I do is imagining that behind the mirror there’s a group of nazi scientist taking notes and tracking my progress.
Fuck bro I definitely won’t look at mirrors the same now
Will use this method for next leg day
Based warrior
Gavin Cooper
Definitely. When running especially, if I imagine charging into battle in any era of my choosing, my adrenaline spikes and I get a free sprint. Roman battalion is my usual go to
Tyler Brooks
>>chest AND back day Excuse me?

That’s sick man! I’ll have to try that out. Cardio is always a notch so anything to get it going faster helps.
It makes for a great pump. I was skeptical about it at first because my buddy and I originally split chest/triceps one day and back/biceps another. When we first switched it I didn’t have much energy to throw around weight for the back portion but overtime I’ve noticed that, for me personally, the pump is crazy and definitely worth the try.
Adrian Campbell
But how the fuck do you do a 6 day split and do push and pull on the same day? Defeats the whole purpose of the program
Logan Rivera
Have sex. Or don't. You seem like you'll stay a total buzzkill regardless
Nathaniel Taylor
Chest/back (back day switches on and off weekly from vertical to rows) , biceps/triceps/forearms, shoulder/traps/abs, legs, rest day.
That’s the workout routine I stick to. A lot of the muscle groups for chest and back are working together simultaneously. For instance, t bar rows can be felt throughout the back as well as the chest if you’re properly squeezing. For vertical back day lay pull downs can have the same effect from what I’ve noticed.
Hell yeah, I listen to Warduna, Heilung, and SKALD all the time for the pump
Gavin Smith
when I run I pretend I'm an ancient hero arriving late to a battlefield my army is losing, and then when I run down the line the men gain courage and hope again, chanting things like "It's user, the battle is saved!" It helps with my posture while running, too
Start chasing the wolves They will stand no chance
Adam Wright
>FUCK THE CLOCK BATTERY DIED >FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK >GUYS I'M ALMOST THERE >FUCKFUCKFUCK
Jonathan Ward
bro, I imagine I'm a raider rowing out to foreign coasts whenever I row, I put this song on literal repeat for 25 minutes or however long I row and row in pace with the 'rowing' in the song. youtube.com/watch?v=0aL-vX7xYrE
I usually just imagine I'm among a crop of selected individuals for a Spartan super soldier-like program and all of the scientists are behind the mirrors in awe at the fact that I'm the perfect human specimen. Austistic af but it works.
Adam Perry
What's better? Chest/back or legs/back?

Gah damn boys didn’t know I had so many Viking brethren wandering this sight. Keep up the intensity man we’re going to conquer all the weaker nations.
That’s sick man. Face pulls are definitely going to be done more thoroughly from now on.
I prefer chest/back, but to be quite honest I’ve never done legs/back. I find that legs already make my lower back pretty tight so that may in turn just make my back tighter off of the get go thus making me less able to get through legs. I generally hit legs by themselves too because I’m there for a solid 2 and 1/2 hours already and don’t need to add an extra hour to an already intense workout.
Brayden Gray
I've been listening to a ww1 history podcast with a ton of first hand accounts from the men that fought in the war. Some of my ancestors fought in ww1 and I want to make them proud and be just as strong as they were. Call me what you will, but that gives me proper motivation.
If you have not heard of hardcore history than get the podcast asap.
Dan carlins work is amazing and all of you should listen to it at least once unless history doesn't interest you.
Jack Bell
Blueprint for Armageddon
Joshua White
Give it a try. The way he does the podcast is really good and i can't explain it here. Download it and listen for a few hours
Anthony Peterson
I've got something for you there user. YT video simulating what an artillery shelling would sound like during WW1. Watch the entire thing, don't skip around.
I imagine myself in a post apocalyptic world and thinking how i would hide and kill one by one the enemies chasing me. I like to run in an abandones industrial area nearby so the scenario helps
Dominic Sullivan
Think about the shell shock listening to that for hours.
Daniel Lewis
yep
Eli Miller
If you don't lift for the exact purpose of getting into Valhall then get out of my face desu
One is that I'm driving away from the seas of hell across a warping desert in a Buick Grand National while trying to save the concept of human goodness anthropomorphized into an angelic, sleeping young girl in the passenger seat. This goes for Let There be Light by Justice
The other is being in the Tet Offensive and outrunning the broken arrow napalm order. There's a slurry of songs for this, but Evil Things by The Black Angels invokes it.
Carter Long

Jesus user that gave me chills thanks for sharing.
That’s pretty crazy man. We all have our different methods and I’m sure your ancestors are proud they can live through the intensity of your lifts.
Thanks man. I didn’t know autism would make me feel so good.
I don’t think there’s any reason to live if it weren’t for glorious Valhalla.
Asher Diaz
Unironically yes >doing cable rows >listening to hammer fall >imagine I'm a rower in a giant sea battle with lightning and magic flying over head while the female vocalist is singing encantations and spells to fight against the sea niggers
Let me reply to me for you BASED

>crusader >roman legionary >germanic barbarian >bronze age steppe chad >medieval visigothic knight >cromagnon >ancient greek >alexander >scythian i love larping as historical stuff

internally rotate that siege....
i imagine the race war, i stand against the brown hoards, squats and ohp for mass and overall strength.
Liam Hughes
I do something similiar when I running and feel like giving up I always imagine myself as a Viking landing on new land attacking a castle. Feels amaznig with the right music
Gavin Gutierrez
i imagine im training for a fight. not like a ufc title fight. like a fight with my worst enemy. on top of a mountain during a thunderstorm.
Adam Reyes
Some say to run pretending you are chased by ferocious wolf.
Traditional peoples run, to chase the wolf.
Isaiah Perez
Based, gotta get swole to join the Bloatlord phalanx
Listen to 793 (slaget om Lindisfarne) by Enslaved. It's a song about one of the first Viking raids in the British Isles, in which an island monastery was sacked. S
Aaron Nelson
I listen to this song when I bench. I imagine being a hermit getting swole and pulling a Zarathustra.
It gets me in the zone. I don't know why, I don't ask questions.
Well yeah, my heaviest diddy prs were when I was lifting "for something" in the sense. Iirc Eddie hall said something similar. He talked how his psychologist helped him to get into fight or flight manually. And this helped him lift that 500kgs. What I noticed myself, is that nicotine gum can actually activate this somehow. I think it's linked adrenaline release.
