Best row variant?

Best row variant?

Off the ground

The only row is off the ground.

For my money it's gotta be seal rows. A bit of a pain to set up but I get the most powerful, pure contraction in the whole upper back that I've ever felt.

Seated cable row

>half rom row
>most powerful, pure contraction in the whole upper back that I've ever felt.

Forgot to preface with “Non-SS/SL aspie”.

Standing one arm cable row

Try em yourself, tell me I'm wrong.

pendlay is good for building speed/"explosive" power and strength.

i do regular bent over rows for volume. single arm feel like a waste of time. cables rows are nice but, again, i do it just for volume.

t-bar rows are my favourite

Also I'm not sure where you got the idea that seal rows are half ROM. Explain yourself.

T-bar rows

You're laying on a bench and the bar is typically several inches from your body at a minimum. If you just did heavier incomplete rows it would have the same effect.

The range of motion is slightly shorter yes, it's no where near half.
As someone who has done both I can tell you that it doesn't.

Never seen a bench that narrow at any commercial gym, you're gonna be doing this typically.

It’s not like it matter anyway both of you, the work done by the lats ends right as the biceps are parallel to the torso, the last bit of contraction is done by the rear delts which is mostly unnecessary for back size, weight is more important than rom in this case

All the Gyms I have been to have the thin one, never seen this transformers playhouse type bench

Pendlay rows which are just barbell rows done the way they are meant to be done. You can use supinated or pronated grip, doesn’t matter.

I've never seen a bench like that, and as
mentions it doesn't really matter. Like I said dude, instead of shit talking them for no reason, try them and see if I'm wrong. Because they're fucking great.

The best row is called piked pull ups you fat fuck

>Piked pullups
>Not front lever rows
Confirmed landwhale

I love doing barbell rows on the roman chair, then immediately using the same weight for hyperextensions.

Seal rows are also great but I don't have an option to do it in my gym.

For unilateral, definitely meadows rows.

Pendlay has a better ROM. Same thing with barbell "shrugs" vs barbell shrugs off the rack.

pendlay rows are just easier on the lower back, but have fun then

Saints row is pretty good.

Pull ups since I'm not autistic

Where you pull to? I thought it was to chest/lower chest but pic looks like hes' pulling to lower abs

>I lift because it’s fun and not for girls to notice me.

personal trainer who was training some stacy was making fun of me for doing this

that's the lat pulldown for non-americans, not the row you braindead doublenigger

>Front lever rows
>Not rows
Whatever you say tubby

At least I can do back lever to planche pec flys, peclet

Barbell bent over row, a chest supported row (T-Bar row), and dumbbell row.

Barbell for the main compound because you can move a lot of weight, gives you a nice glute stretch, you can use any angle you want.

Chest supported/tbar because you can't use momentum

Dumbbell for that symmetry

Unironically t-bar row

imagine lifting for women

Deadlift rows, extremely good accessory for deadlift.

Can anyone explain?

My dumbell row I do with 40s
My barbell row is 140lbs

Why is this? I would've thought that the barbell would be more restrictive and allow less muscles to recruit for the movemen.

>I don’t lift for women, I lift for myself!

unironically cheat rows

>not lifting to lead others
smhfam

>physical strength helps with any leadership capabilities after high school.

It’s proven that fat weak people get hired less for higher paying jobs than fit people. Your interviewer sees it as a sign of dedication and persistence

seal rows are great

This is the ultimate iron pill. Improving yourself to embody the heroic values and become part of the /fitlit/ master race is what I lift for.

Where is your proof?

If you’re a blue collared ditch digger maybe.

Dumbbell rows are superior to barbell rows

supine rows

Are you supposed to pull it into your hips? I've been pulling into just under my pecs

Seated cable. Pendlay rows are the best barbell variant, but they're too hard on my lower back.

On bent-over rows close to your belly button, while on pendlay rows close to your pecs.

For SS/SL why should I do pendlay rows over bent over rows?

this is the best because you can heave the most weight with shit form

Bent over row 10x10, varying the grip width and switching between pronated/supinated for each set.

The barbell has to move in a straight vertical line in order for the move to be efficient, moving the bar diagonally is a retarded way to do it

>which is the best row if you exclude the best row

the weight should be well over what you can hold up for more than a rep

Better for explosiveness according to Jeff cavalier

the only correct answer is Yates rows.

What?

started doing bent over instead of pendlay and i feel more work on my back, think its gotten bigger. also i find it more fun, but as the weight gets heavier its harder to set up the bent position

/fat/ here. When I do bent over rows I have to bend over quite a bit and pull to my chest to clear my gut, and this puts a lot of strain on my back, already hurt it twice.

But if I bend over so far my back is parallel to the floor, basically pendlay rows but without resting on the floor between the reps, it feels comfortable for my back and I feel a lot stronger. Is it fine if I continue like that?

are you pulling the bar completely vertically to your chest from its starting point? when you're doing a barbell row when you're bent over at around 40° forward the bar should be pulled towards your sternum or slightly lower. pulling to your chest fucks the angle on your wrists and doesn't do as much as the back. The bar should be closer to your body. Also this for pendlay rows but body horizontal.

if pendlay rows feel better stick with them. not resting the bar on the floor increases your time under tension to makes your back and your forearms work harder to keep the bar up between reps. make sure ur form is right bro

Jeff says that bent over rows starting from the rack safeties (similarly to rack pulls) are better for size if you don't care about explosiveness. I do them supersetted with bench, using the bench as stop/go.

Krok rows

Whats your pr?

i noticed that as well, i will find a way to get a good height to support the barbell

I bend my knees, open my legs enough to reach the bench at the bottom of the row and can live with that. Also i'm too lazy to walk out the entire bench for Pendlay rows.

Generally you will be stronger with a barbell in any exercise. Dumbbells require more stabilization and therefore are harder to lift (with the same form, if you're just ripping a one handed dumbbell row as hard as you can you can usually pull a lot more than half what you can barbell row)

If 300lbs powerlifters and strongman can do it correctly then so can you. Film yourself and get your form checked, you're probably doing something weird

117kgs for 5.

I do pendlay with pronated grip
It just feels better

You’re a fucking dyel and it’s obvious

pendlay because i'm not a fucking faggot

>he lifts for frauenkreaturen
NGMI

Post body dyel faggot

Dead Row.
You allow the legs to help with it.

Lets play a game, called post body COPEr

Do this if you wanna look like an absolute fucking tool kek

>Using a bench instead of just standing up for a bent-over row.
NGMI

Bingo.

This is the fucking best ever. My old gym have it, I need it sooooo badly.
Rowing to your belly button with these felt fucking fantastisk

my nigga.

You'd have to be pretty jacked to get away with this

None enjoy your hernias

I just invested in one of these bad boys. Fucking game changer, not just for bent over rows but also skull crushers, incline chest, lots of other movements. Neutral grip is so easy on the wrists, makes a world of difference.

Kroc rows cuz they turn ya gay

Like that you're not really lifting, bro.
