I bet you can't do a pullup right now!

I never loved pullups because I never felt them in my back, but then I realized I always kipped and kicked with my legs to get myself higher. When I started keeping my legs extended and flexed so they don't help me I saw back pumps and back gains, why didn't anyone tlel me this?

I love push ups

Chin up gang rise up
Pull ups suck

Pullups are the ultimate back exercise, and it's weird to me how many people seem to treat it like it isn't. It's pretty much my entire back routine.
The most I ever did was 35. Nowadays I can only do 23, but I'm trying to work my way back up.

A good, controlled pullup is a surefire way to tear your back muscles. You don't even need weights as long as you focus on the actual movement.

>Not doing both
Disgusting

im sorry im retarded but when you say a slow controlled pullups will tear your back muscles do you mean its dangerous and actually hurts your back? or that its good for your back

I just mean muscle tears. Pullups are the easiest and best way to build up your back if you do proper technique. Kipping can help when you're struggling, but controlled pullups are where it's at. Most guys that strap insane amounts of weight usually sacrifice form.

Where could i buy a chezp harness for weighted pullups ?

Just get a backpack and some plates

Samefag for that user, but here's an example of one of my back/pullup days.

4 Rounds, 30 seconds between exercises
6 Chinups
6 Close Grip Chinups
6 Chinups
6 Regular or Wide Pullups
6 Negative Pullups

5-10 Minutes of abs

3 Rounds, 30 seconds between exercises
5 Pullups
7 Close Grip Pullups
5 Chinups

Thanks nerd gonna steal this

God speed my back bro

I use a nylon strap I took from work. I used a bike lock cable as a kid.

>be in highschool
>find another guy who is into fitness
>"yeah man I can do 20 pull ups easy
>impressed
>go to gym with him
>we both show off our max
>I can do 7
>he grabs the bar
>starts flinging himself forward and backward by like 3 feet
>sprawls his legs all over the place
>some weird ass crossfit shit
>uses the momentum to pull his head over the bar
People saw

I used to be that kind of faggot, and I hate that I did that.

why would you?

To master ALL pullups. He who masters the pullups masters the world.

but is there a difference for back development? i watched the calestenics video on the differences and they only seem to differ in arm activation not back

>Pull up challenge with friends
>goal 1000 pull ups in one day
>~1 month to train for it
>Training 3 times a week just pullups
>4-6 reps emoms, sometimes with 10kg, sometimes with 20kg
>hitting 300+ reps every training session, got up to around 750 reps the week before
>day comes, 6 other guys, 5 reps each constantly one after another
>finish in around 4 hours, last 200 reps of so try to hit 10 reps for lols, manage that easy
>die
>never again. Tested out pull up reps in a row week after, manage 34reps

enjoy your tendonitis goals in 2019

It's minor, but there are studies that they active slightly difference back muscles.aworkoutroutine.com/pull-ups-vs-chin-ups/

Can do 30 dead hang after six months. (Chins).

I know the feeling, just you wait until you can do explosive pull ups to the belly button, it will be an orgasmic day

Chin ups for biceps, pull ups for lats, mostly

David?

Which is better? Weighted or one-arm?

i cant do a pullup

weighted, one-arm increases chance of injury

when I started I could do 1 and then have to wait a min to do another. Now I can do 65 pound weighted for 5 reps.

Based pull-up fren
Don't fret user just start with negatives So does weighted desu. Weight is weight (it's easier to go weighted though).

Anyone who's not my grandma want to weigh in?

Awwww is the little baby powerfatter mad there are people out there who can actually do more in terms of movement than waddle and bench a 2inch ROM?

Depends on your goals really. You can start with weighted to gain the necessary strength and then work on technique to get one armed. Alternatively you can start with Archer pull-ups or Mantle pull-ups to get to one armed. If you can do heavy pullups it'll easier to get ohp and if can do ohp you'll be able to do heavy pull-ups. The increased risk of injury is a thing only if you start doing retarded shit with bad technique and not enough experience desu.

Weighted. Hits everything just the same but with more resistance.

Pullups are difficult to execute for beginners.
It's not about getting your head above the bar, but activating and using the back muscle to do so.

I pull myself up using my arms, which beats the purpose of this exercise.

Start with pulldowns and work up to it. Focus on form over weight.

YOU GO, PULLUP-BRO!
CRANK OUT THOSE REPS!

Hmm based thread desu

s-shut up!

What's the difference?

>not doing them on rings with full supination/pronation

Pathetic

Weighted chin ups make my dick hard, I love doing them

Is 3 sets by 8 reps okay? Btw I do them properly.

It's good. Start adding weight.

I tried lat pull-ups the other day. The door frame blocked my elbows and also I feel a weird pain in my left shoulder. Also you start swinging after a few reps, it's annoying as fuck.

I'll stick to the lat pulldown machine thank you.
