Why is it a great job for a male? I'm about to start my schooling for pre-nursing and would also like to know what your impression of the school work was.

School was difficult. Way harder than prereqs. But prereqs and nursing school are totally different. Nursing is a lot about diseases where prereqs focus a lot on anatomy and physiology.

Nursing is fucking great. I kek at all the 9-5 fags waste 5 days a week if their life. The 3x12 shifts are god tier. I can work unlimited overtime if I want to or I can take mad days off in a row. My pay is up to me, anywhere from 50k a year to 100k a year depending on how much I feel like getting overtime.

Plus, if I don’t want to work bedside I can basically transfer to any other specialty, even ones that don’t wear scrubs.

Can move literally anywhere in the country. Can quit my job, start a business, it can fail and I can pick up a job in 1 week and be exactly where I was when I left.

Nurses in the US have autonomy in many aspects of patient care, we can perform invasive interventions, decide the appropriateness of meds that a doctor has prescribed, place foleys, NG tubes, IV’s including picc lines, remove chest tubes, remove arterial lines and sheaths. Etc etc.

Plus, 2 more years of schooling to get nurse practitioner and be a miniature doctor.

Being a doctor or even a PA or NP sucks though. You have to be on call if you want to make any money. That means getting woken up by retards all night long who want antibiotics for the flu or want pain medication for their "sciatica". Or they want antidepressants, adderall, or xanax. Finally you get time off but you have to pay another doctor/similar level medical professional or trade time and have their shitty retarded patients call you and cry about their "10/10 pain". Or even worse - you still get called even though you're not on call because the ass hole covering for you isn't actually committed to covering your call.
Also if you don't go on call after hours, the insurance companies will drop your accreditation and then you can only take self-pay patients.
Private practice sucks because you have to manage the whole business - billing, advertising, employees, pay roll, taxes, title 45 compliance, etc.
Being an employee of a corporate owned practice is one way to "guarantee" some time off but the pay is shit.
I'm aware of nurses who make more money than non-surgical doctors.
I guess weigh the options, but it's probably better to become a nurse first at least unless you're going to be a an award winning doctor.
