Personally, I think the strongman physique with visible abs is great. It makes the abs a sign of an incredibly strong core rather than just low bf%

It really depends on what you're training for. Having actual low bf can reduce strength and athletic performance. Cutting to sub-12% is pointless unless you plan on getting on a stage or lift purely for aesthetics.
