get your core in check first, core is your natural back brace. go beltless for a while as you work on glutes and core stability

Lay off the heavy deadlifting for a while and recover your lower back, then start doing more RDL, weighted glute ham raises etc as well as general core work to stabilize your core and prevent yourself from blowing out a disk, which it sounds like you are well on your way to doing

not OP but I strained my lower back doing deadlift today. I feel like a fucking idiot, I lost my form and lifted with my back. Immediately dropped the weight when my lower back twinged with pain.

I'm laying down now with ice. How long am I looking at recovery to normal function? A day? Maybe a couple? Back to lifting in a week?

I've done this once before a few years back in college but it was much worse then. I could barely walk back to my dorm room.

Doing nothing

It's probably your glutes and your referencing the back pain from them
