What strength level is the maximum SAFE level for a natty. I'm not trying to be a cripple by 50 like powerliftfags

What strength level is the maximum SAFE level for a natty. I'm not trying to be a cripple by 50 like powerliftfags.

I'm thinking 1.5/2.5/3.5/4.5. For most men.

It honestly depends on mobility more than just a arbitrary limit. Powerlifters aren't known to be the most mobile crowd while also emphasizing heavy lifting. It's a recipe for disaster

>the price you have to pay is pretty painful
for whom?

Honestly strength in lifts is retarded if you don’t plan to compete, so long as you’re gaining muscle and not struggling with under 1pl8 you’re fine. There’s no need to bench 315, diddly 5pl8, or squat 4pl8 for reps. Although it is undeniably badass and looks/feels cool. But for most people just wanting health or aesthetics, they should that shit unless they’re actually gonna take all precautions(doing the shit many powerlifters don’t do like mobility work) and go slow

T. Was powerlifting for a few years and feel like an 80 year old man inside a 24 year olds body

he's a big guy

yeah powerlifting is retarded if you don't plan to compete

even if you do it's pointless without roids. You'll never get medals or set records in actual associations, and you'll never ever look good by strength training. You can more or less look like total shit and bench like 3 plates for a single just by doing low reps and shit

There are no magic numbers. A 4pl8 squat isn't inherently dangerous while a 3pl8 one is somehow safe because of absolute load.
Lift with decent mechanics, stay natty, don't eat like a retard.
I have 2/3.5/5.5/6.5 and no health issues.

For your wallet.

I know a guy my age (23) who set my states squat record. He’d be called dyel by Jow Forumss standards but he’s always in the 10-15% bf range and enerally looks pretty good. I WANT to believe he’s using gear but he really doesn’t look like he is, link related at the 1:17 mark is him:

Like I said, dude looks extremely natty, yet he’s broken the state record for (I think) junior

Any studies on this topic? Is there a magic cap for sustainable weight to squat or to bench?

Do you think you have to look like you use gear? Do you even know what gear does? Every top athlete uses roids and they don't look like Arnold

Look at some of the pudgy fucks in oly weightlifting setting world records

Pic related clean and jerks 243kg

He missed a 110 bench, he better be natty

>never look good by strength training
are you sure about that? I could understand if your diet is a certain way but you could still look good while strength training, although the progress would be slowed down

It's wear and tear over time. You're high if you don't think squatting 500 lbs isn't slowly grinding your knees and spine.

kg though

Eh, walking and standing grinds down knees and spine arguably more than squatting decently, without the benefits.
I just think it's daft to try and place an arbitrary number on what is 'safe to lift'.

powerlifting for aesthetics is absolutely fucking retarded

Well yeah red+blue=110kg. I don't speak Amerilard.

Idk what you mean, my giant tits and quads, along with my massively underdeveloped everything else, are aesthetic as fuck.

Overhead should be higher. Like 3/2.5/3.5/5 for minimal risk.

You’re a retard
I hit 2/3/4/5 at 19 and it wasn’t even that hard
It’s only unsafe if you’re a weak bitch who thinks brosciencelife is unironically good lifting advice

>ohp more than bench

This you?

post body

Maybe so, but are you really gonna sit here and tell me if someone lifting heavy ass weights and eating like an animal hops on test that he’s not gonna blow tf up? Plus despite what I said about just his appearance I was keeping in mind that he might be on something like sdrol but then again I’d imagine he’d be putting up more weight than a 480 squat or benching sub 3pl8 if he was on any gear, again I would like to believe he’s on gear but it doesn’t appear so.
>do you even know what gear does
Yikes.
Yeah that’s what I’m saying. The squat record in my state that he broke was only like 480lbs and it was in whatever age bracket 20 years old is(I think that’s junior if I’m not wrong). But like I said, I would like to believe he’s on gear mostly just for my own ego but it just doesn’t add up.

coleman isnt a powerlifter

>hard work neurosurgeons performed on my back

inb4 he disappears

No but we were talking about the safe limit. Overhead position is much safer for the shoulders than bench

Give me two seconds to colour out my face

He was

it depends on genetics and leverages but I'd say much more than that for most men

There you go cunt, 2/3/4/5. Aesthetic? Barely, but not in constant joint pain like you pussies will be at 30 anyway

>ohping much more than 1.5 as a natty dude
>safe

haha ok dude. Post 2+ pl8 ohp

very few want to be mr olympia

that amount of drug use is obsurd

>walking and standing grinds down knees and spine arguably more than squatting decently
I really don't know about that. 500 lbs is an absurd amount of weight. That's like saying cruising at 1500 rpm for 30 miles is more wear and tear than red lining your car for 1 mile. Physics aren't linear.

What kind of pen did you use to make the timestamp?

these workouts prevent degradation and wear and tear is nominal if you do it with proper form.

easy to talk in your 20's. Also claiming lifts online? Who could ever doubt you?

Just z-press if you are worried about hurting your back

Yeah fair enough it’s a pic from like 2 months ago I’m fatter now
It’s sad you think I’d have to lie about 2/3/4/5. Most of the PT’s at my gym can hit that ez, minus the OHP

Sounds about right. Don’t really know about the 3.5 and 4.5 though, I feel like that would make you hurt a lot faster considering how much we use our legs and back on a daily basis.

If you stay natty you shouldn't need to worry about wear and tear, Coleman injected ungodly amount of roids, train for hours everyday with ridiculous weight, most people who don't lift are fucking crippled at 50 anyway

I hit 3/4/5/6 in my first month of lifting. Pretty sad that your PTs can only handle that

I’m the pen bro and at my peak (age 21) I hit 185/285/350/455lbs and that was without any proper programming, shit diet, and just dicking around maxing out nearly every week for 2 years while also taking up other bad habits like skipping OHP and accessories or developing bad form for a while on some lifts. Had I gone about it smarter, followed an actual routine and tracked my food I’d probably have similar lifts and body to yours. I was too fat to really tell, but I think at my biggest I was close to you as far as muscle goes. These guys who are claiming your lifts are impossible are retarded.

It's a shame there aren't any studies on the effects of squatting 500 regularly for 30 years, it'd be very interesting to see. I do believe that the current professional cosensus is that the benefits of strength training far outweigh wear and tear damage. Having said that, I get all my training knowledge from barbell medicine and trial and error.

Maybe you lift that much, but you sure don't look like you do

Honestly, this.

If you get reasonably strong there is no harm in staying there and pursuing other healthy habits.

Like it'd be great to bench 225 for reps, squat 315, deadlift 405.

But also have a a built physique, be able to run 6miles at a good pace. Knock out 100 pushups etc.

>fit thinks 2/3/4/5 is an unreasonable goal

The 2 plate OHP is pretty up there but 4 plate Sq and 5 plate dead isn't too hard to hit, I find bench the hardest lift but 3 plate still seems achievable to me

Physique, sure
Decent 6 mile time, sure
100 pushups, why? Surely that is nothing more than the world's shittest party trick.

Anybody can hit those benchmarks you coping faggot.

>these workouts prevent degradation
Lol. You don't need to squat 500 lbs to stay fit, I bet 95% of health gains are gotten with a bodyweight squat.

>wear and tear is nominal if you do it with proper form.
It's not about form you retard. We aren't talking about snap city. We're talking about the consequences of doing dynamic movements with hundreds of pounds of weight placed on your joints. The fact of the matter is that will inevitably cause notable wear.

I'm gonna be a creaky old fuck at 50 anyway, might as well be strong

once you reach that strength you already have advantage at every hobby and sports in normal life
only autistic lock themselves in gym so they can progress 5 lbs for something no one cares about

Exactly. Most normies can’t beleive that I diddly over 4pl8

Squat and deadlift are pointless past 3 and 4 plates. Work your shoulders only.
