I dont know how tall you are but you want to get down to 200 pounds or so. Assuming a tiny deficit like that, it will take about a year and a half assuming perfect results. If you're already strong you may consider fasting for weightloss.

If you really are that tall, you're probably fine in terms of muscle mass at 300 pounds. 500 calories is the standard for long term weightloss because it's easy and doesnt fuck with your hormones, but there are faster ways to lose weight. Go ahead and get started with training and eating lots and lots of clean protein (chicken breast, homemade meat sandwiches, milk, sausages, Gold Standard shakes, ground turkey, etc)
