Right, and then when the time comes you pull out your sword and I pull out my gat and pump you full of lead.

>muh gat
You can't even shoot straight nigger

>he doesn't have swords and guns
>gat
Do everyone a favor and shoot yourself.

The only sword that seems practical is a Roman Gladius, everything else is mall ninja meme shit

I don’t weigh enough to practice sword techniques.

>implying the warhammer isn’t the true Jow Forums weapon of choice

You might as well be a katana weeb if you seriously do this

How is a gladius practical? How is sword fighting in general "practical"?

How big r u m8

6’4’’ and 210 lbs. I’d need at least a couple hundred more before I’m worth of the katana.

Based as fuck.

Its light, sharp, and compact
You could unironically use it to gut tyrone like a fish if he breaks into your house

Two handed BAxe is the fit weapon cuz

Kek, went a different direction than I thought - good luck m8

Many short European swords are either descendants of the gladius albeit with slightly better mechanics or reach. The Romans even switched over to the spatha as the empire grew in power.

I prefer rebar with like a quarter inch of duct tape around it

fuck off pleb

But my ancestors used guns

Real warhammers are way smaller than that gigantic thing. Still, I've wielded them before and the feeling of swinging a heavy chunk of metal on the end of a stick feels fuckin' great.

I use swords as part of my job (pirate entertainer who does skits and swordfights for kids) but I only know choreography and the basics. I'd love to find a place to learn actual methods and whatnot.

your job sounds fun as fuck

For me, it's the cutlass, me matey.

It is, and it's helped my social anxiety. It's a side job but I wish I could survive off just that but it is what it is. I now know every bad pirate joke ever.

That's pretty neat. I like watching youtube videos but obviously it's not the same as in-person. There is a hema group or two around me but I haven't quite figured out when/where they meet.

Me and you both mate.

I like sword and bucker, but I have to imagine doing zweihander drills will get you fucking ripped though. Might start a landsknect kit in a few years just for that.

I almost did HEMA classes but its way closer to LARPing than I expected. Even at the high level all they really do is compete in full padded armor kendo style for points. That or cut water bottles or tatami mats to show form and techinique.

Lots of the instructors are fat and out of shape and or DYEL. I'm not convinced I couldn't kill one of them in a real sword fight just from being stronger and having better stamina.

Its like training martial arts just to do fucking point karate like The Karate Kid. Lame AF.

That is gay. Maybe there is room to develop the concept though in trying something similar, where training like this could be at least reasonably violent and fitness could apply. I've seen pics of people getting fucked up in fencing but I don't want to fence, I want to LARP with swords and etc.

Does fencing count?

You guys want Battle of the Nations. They are armored well enough that they can wail on each other with relatively minor injuries like concussions and broken fingers. I recall a paralyzation scare a few years back though when a South American got whacked by a Finn with a dane axe. The Eastern Europeans tend to dominate their tournaments.

>Battle of the Nations
Yeah this is based user, thanks.
