I also have tinea versicolor. Just use topical antifungal cream on the spots and they go away. They come back, of course, but thems the breaks. There are worse skin conditions to have; I don't get acne and I'd rather get spots on my back versus getting gross acne.

OP: Ask your doctor to check if your tinea is actually CARP. My CARP was misdiagnosed as tinea versicolor for 10 years, and once corrected, was successfully treated with minocycline. Going low-carb also helps it go away.
And if it's tinea: don't avoid sweating, just make sure to shower soon after working out. Don't rest in your sweaty clothes.
