Bought one of these because I don't know how to cook for shit. Can anybody recommend some recipes and can we also have a general recipes thread?

This is a pork shoulder. Buy one and trim it as shown. Throw out the skin and keep the bone to make broth later (freeze it).

>Coat meat in cumin, salt, pepper, onion powder, turmeric, and a little oregano
>In separate bowl, combine 1 cup soi sauce with half cup ketchup, an absolute shitload of freshly minced garlic, and the above spices and some brown sugar
>Add a cap of apple cider vinegar to that bowl
>Set pot to sautee and add a little oil
>Brown meat
>Turn off pot
>Deglaze with some cider vinegar and a rubber spatula
>Pour sauce over meat and mix up
>Cook on high pressure for an hour
>Quick release
>Pull the meat apart with forks or use the spatula as a stabbing blade
>Mix it again
>I then add a little more sugar and slow cook for 30 minutes

You have a fuckton of pulled pork now. Goes well with pickles or slaw

Do you want simple or do you want GOAT?
Simple? Any bullshit that pops up when you google it
GOAT? Serious eats

The book it comes with has some recipes in there and there are tons of recipes online if you look. Mostly I use mine for chilli, shredded chicken, steel cut oats, hard boiled eggs, sweet potatoes, and beans. Basically anything you would use a crockpot for you can do in the insta pot much faster.

I'll take anything you're willing to share

Literally just prepped some pasta with meat sauce in that bad boy an hour ago.

>Saute mode
>3 cups pasta (I'm using penne) in 3 qts water
>8-11 minutes (stir occasionally)
>drain
>Brown 2 lbs Ground beef (saute mode again)
>drain
>return pasta and beef to pot
>add 20 - 26oz sauce
>mix
>using warming function for 10 minutes
Enjoy

>adding sugar
GET OUT

It's a bit of brown sugar for 2lbs of meat. About 1/4 cup. That's 135 calories

do your boiled eggs in that thing. I have never made better eggs than these. seriously.

Saute mode, whatever setting. Wait till it says Hot

Dump in some ground beef. Brown it.

Add beef or chicken broth. I usually add the whole box or one cube + whatever water needed to dissolve.

Now to season. Dump in whatever you're into. I like lots of chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes. Stir it up real good.

Then I add some kind of frozen vegetables. Usually a bag of frozen spinach and/or onion. Stir it up like a soup. Set it to meat mode or soup for like 10 minutes or whatever, doesn't matter. Put on the lid and let it pressure cook. Spinach beef soup. Change the vegetable or the meat if you want something different. Some times I do bacon instead. Stuff like that.

Eyy, so did I. Same one.

>he doesn't know how to follow basic instructions

There’s a difference between not wanting to and not giving a fuck.

>I don't know how to cook for shit

Cooking is the ability to follow basic instructions

Pork shoulder + BBQ sauce

Gonna try this out for sure, thanks for sharing user

if i just threw some frozen vegetables in while making rice, would that work or fuck everything up?

Is it better than a simple rice cooker ? I might buy that instead of the rice cooker I was planning to buy : amazon.fr/dp/B00BFM9WRY/?coliid=I3M2LTKU958AGY&colid=3EZRI0AUKH31E&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Also what's the difference with a "crock pot" like this one : amazon.fr/dp/B007XEJ4G2/?coliid=I1ANSRB7T50OTX&colid=3EZRI0AUKH31E&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

>what's the difference with a "crock pot"
It's a pressure cooker, can cook shit super fast. It can also function as a crock pot
I kind of want to get one myself, but I can't reconcile the cost with how little I'm home

Delicious

thanks I might get one like op then to cook my meals in the evening. I was planning to get rice cooker + crock pot but if this one does both I will buy this one instead.

It does both and sous-vide.
I would recommend it if you're already looking for a rice cooker/crock pot

Nice I'll buy one then.
Bump for recipes

Perfect really nice

>I don't know how to cook for shit.
If only there was a way to improve skills!

>pork broth
Oof.

What's wrong with pork broth?

I use mine for oatmeal most often. There’s a bunch of good recipes if you google “instant pot steel cut oats”

I've made this chicken about 3 times and eat it over couscous. It's awesome. A few changes, though:

>Use boneless thighs, and don't chop them up
>Double the spices as this bitch is weak
>And you're going to brown it, then cook everything on high pressure for 20 mins before opening and slow cooking for 30 to thicken
