I was only commenting on MMA vs boxing. If you're in a scuffle without weapons somehow, you'll fuck up a normal person if you actively spar and they don't regardless of what you spar in.

But if some guy stabs or shoots me out of nowhere I'll probably die even if I had a gun, unless I'm wearing body armor. Situational awareness is obviously the best form of self-defense.

The octagon is truly the greatest stage for martial artists to show their full potential. Just two men, utilizing the full extent of themselves to achieve victory by knockout or submission. It's the ultimate combat sport.

a) Boxing has existed for far longer than memea therefore its more evolved and explored, rules like big gloves and long rounds arent there to make it "more pussy" or whatever op thinks, its to make the sport more skill-dependant and fair

b) boxing has a far bigger pool of competitors making it more difficult to get to the top by default, guys like GGG have been fighting people in the streets since they were kids and fought like 300 amateur bouts without getting knocked down once
c) no mma fighter made it far in boxing despite the fact that there is a lot more money in boxing, mma plebs cant step up

Martial arts have always been used for recreation, sport and self improvement.
