>swim three times a week
>jump rope three times a week
>do boxing a little of boxing here and there
>at it for three months
>still haven't lost a lick of weight
>took up smoking again even to keep my appetite at bay
once you make it to your late 30s it's unironically over boyos, if i did the above routine in my early 20s i'd lose 50 lbs in six months without even dieting
Swim three times a week
What's your diet now?
Your metabolism stays the same throughout your adult life.
Also, your focusing on all the wrong things. Your talking about exercise when diet is the most important thing.
One donut = 1 hour jogging session.
one big meal a day of mostly salmon and lean chicken, something i'll have a bit of red meat, i avoid carbs like the plauge
i drink three cups of coffee in the morning though, no sugar little bit of milk. i only drink alcohol maybe once a week if that, and i've been avoiding beer and been drinking straight liquor to keep the calories down
I'm 31 and lost 20lb in a month
you're probably eating like shit OP
You can't outtrain a fucked up diet
i don't eat junk food bro, i simply don't but it, i don't drink soda nothing i don't even buy fruit juices any more literally all i have to drink at my home right is fucking water
Are you counting your calories? Do you know your TDEE?
CICO. Start countin', boy. Your body cannot defy the laws of physics.
You talk about it as if you ever needed or wanted more than just water. Get used to drinking only water for the next 5 years. Also examine your fucking diet and don't lie to yourself and maybe in 5 years you'll see something happen.
Oh your a OMAD low carb idiot.
You also drink alcohol and smoke.
Go vegan. Meat and dairy cause obesity, you cannot be overweight and vegan.
>Your metabolism stays the same throughout your adult life.
this is bullshit
ask any endocrinologist or even a dietitian and they will tell you otherwise.
sick of you people on the internet constantly screeching about the reductionist calories in calories out mantra. it's way more complex than that. just because you lost 30 lbs going from 450 lbs to 420 lbs cutting soda out of life doesn't mean you can't boil everything down to calories in calories out
just for an example asian women eat rice by the truckload and remain petite regardless of overall activity level. that refutes the simplistic calories in calories out approach right there
>gives bullshit anecdotal evidence of Asian women eating “a shit load of rice”
Kill yourself
1 cup of rice is 200 calories.
Rice isn't that calorie dense.
Asians eat more carbs, but it tends to be unprocessed carbs.
OP is eating a ton of processed carbs, dairy and meat. Complete opposite of what an Asian female eats.
>Two things we've been eating for 200,000 and 10,000 years respectively are the cause of obesity in the last 50 years
>you cannot be overweight and vegan
You’re so fucking wrong I’m suing you for emotional damages
>asian women eats blah blah blah
You do realize they watch what they are eating? Go to any asian country and I guarantee you they aren't eating rice by the truckload. They eat maybe half of the bowl that is given to them, thats how they keep skinny.
Also another thing, a slow metabolism doesn't mean you get fat quicker. It just means your digestion process is slower making you feel full longer. Which would imply you eat less throughout the day, so thats another thing the public gets wrong with science.
lmao, this is usually the case with all normies though. Not just fatties. My friend told me the other day that he can guess what 1 serving size looks like just by cupping his hand around the food. He keeps complaining about not gaining weight even though he eats a lot.
>Go vegan.
If the scale doesn't show anything, I would suggest getting some measuring tape and keeping track of your circumference. You might just be replacing fat with muscle.
>>swim three times a week
>>jump rope three times a week
>>do boxing a little of boxing here and there
This isn't even a lot of exercise.
He's probably insulin resistant, you're going to fuck him up even worse.
>don't eat less
>don't lose weight
>yeah when I was your age...
pls leave granpa
how fat is op?
No, you're a fat retard with zero self control that can't comprehend you're doing something wrong. Kill yourself and stop trying to discourage others from improving themselves because you're already a failure
why so angry fren? some people lose weight harder than others, especially at this age
keep lifting, thats it. Its the quickest way to shed weight in like 4 weeks.
eat moderately well. and avoid sodas if you want soda as much pepsi max as you want.
Make drastic diet changes and stop making excuses. Focus your mindset and you can do this.
jumping rope isn't the best for losing weight boxers use it mostly for coordination and balance than they do for weight loss or conditioning. replace it with a three mile jog at brisk pace. keep up the swimming that's good, try to push yourself more than the last time every time you go to the pool
ganbare user
Gonna bite.
You did it for three months, that's nothing. That means you did something hard and radically different for a little while. Maybe do something pleasant and easy for the rest of your life.
If you didn’t learn at a young age that movement equals pleasure, you need to teach yourself that. Easier to do it through pleasure than through fear/shame/pain according to Pavlov.
Smoking is shit and quitting it is double shit, no group they're sold everywhere. You fucked up OP.
This is not health and fitness anymore, mofos even forgot about oats.
Even if you don’t have doubts go to a nutritionist; not an essential oils, modified keto cumdolinni fasting counselor . A fucking doctor.
Find out if you are lactose intolerant, if you have coeliac disease, get your bloodthingy, hormones and heart tests. One in a million chance.
Swimming is great when you’re fat or live in a hot climate and can swim free.
Are you good at swimming? If what you’re doing is splashing and breathing through your mouth or if you spend more time getting ready than actually swimming. Do something else.
If after three months you're not confident as fuck and practicing at least 3 styles do something else. (You are paying a teacher, right OP?)
For how long do you jump rope? How much did you improve in 3 months? You can jump rope anywhere so it’s a really good no excuses 20min workout.
Boxing is the best, yet retarded for 95% of the population. Do you have a big family? older brothers? A physical abuse background?
If not, don’t box. Shadowbox, heavybag and pads. Getting punched in the nose/liver is stupid.
Jump rope is actually really really hard. I doubt OP is doing it for more than 10 minutes, especially at his weight. Did you count your calories?
Late 30’s is not that old. I thought you would be 60’s before you can use that as an excuse. Then again, years of repeated dieting can wreck havoc on your metabolism. If you really are on OMAD try to keep your meal around 1,000 cal. Also do you binge? You must count your binges.
>If after three months you're not confident as fuck and practicing at least 3 styles do something else.
i took swim classes in high school my form isn't picture perfect but I've been doing front crawl, breast stroke and butterfly and I'm improving every time
>For how long do you jump rope? How much did you improve in 3 months? You can jump rope anywhere so it’s a really good no excuses 20min workout.
i jump rope unusually do it for about an hour (w/breaks). I've gotten much better than when I started, can do about 90 seconds at pretty fast pace when I break into my groove. started out barely being able to do 30 seconds continually. can do standard hopping, running in place, knee high alternating, heels out. still working on mastering the boxer's skip. don't bother with double unders as they hurt my knee the next day or crossovers because I only use a $9 pvc rope and they break really easy so I avoid getting too fancy with it. working on buying a more expensive rope. i usually do 15 sets of 90 seconds over the hour
>Do you have a big family? older brothers? A physical abuse background?
i don't have any older brothers (I'm the eldest). my family was pretty big. and yes my dad was abusive growing up actually
idk if I really count my calories. here's what I had today
>vanilla Greek yoghurt (130 Cal's)
>three cops of coffee with a lol bit of milk (probably 200 calories combined)
>lil bit of fries cod with salad and two pitas (I dunno how many calories this was but it wasn't filling at all)
>general tsos chicken with white rice (wasn't going to eat this but I'm swimming tomorrow and the last time i went swimming without eating a big meal the day before I felt really weak and my performance suffered)
One of my former jobs had me interacting with South Koreans (from the motherland) daily. 90% were women, and yes they ate rice most meals, but it was literally like 10 bites of rice. They were obeying CICO and that's why they were all lean.
Sorry buddy, you're probably doing something wrong. There's a few possibilities.
1) You've gained muscle and lost fat, and your weight is the same. You'd probably notice if this is the case.
2) (The more likely possibility) You're taking in too many calories to lose weight. You have to have a calorie deficit to lose weight. If you've been counting calories and it still hasn't happened for you, you're getting hidden calories from somewhere (cooking oil, butter, etc.) or you're underestimating your portions. Even nutritionists underestimate their calorie intake by around 20%. And the average person by well over 50%. Buy a scale and measure carefully.
Best of luck to you user.
Cool beans. Ya boi's a swimmer.
Between the rope and the physical abuse, you're gonna fit right in with boxing.
Now, you're either an abuser, a pussy abuser or a victim. Nothing replaces therapy, but most physical trainers/boxing coaches are used to dudes with violence/aggression issues. It helped me greatly with basic things like touching people, getting close to them, realizing at what distance a person makes me feel uncomfortable. It helped a friend realize he wasn’t invincible, and that once the fight stopped we were all friends and daddy wasn’t gonna bring out the cane. (heavy feelings in the gym, no-homo).
Simple things like touching gloves at the beginning and hugging after the last round are very useful rituals.
You show amazing promise OP. You know this, but you shouldn’t worry about your weight that much, as far as you know the blubber/muscle ratio might be changing while maintaining the same weight.
You should focus on different things, maintaining perfect macros, counting every calorie and all that is for the Olympics or if you have ocd issues and its pleasurable.
Doing something social and different you don’t wanna do every week opens a lot of doors. I managed to sneak my way into practicing gymnastics, archery, hockey, basketball, soccer, tai-chi, yoga, vipassanna, tennis and some other things completely free. I’m not social, but I cultivated the friendship of some really active and social people.
Oh, and again. Quit cigarettes. Today.
You don’t need that shit and you’re better than that.
