How do I safely do an extended fast?
>Take snake juice, or just supplement electrolytes.
>Water=2L
>Potassium chloride =1 tsp (No Salt)
>Sodium chloride = 1/2 tsp (Himalayan Pink Salt)
>Sodium Bicarbonate = 1 tsp (Baking Soda)
>Magnesium Sulphate = 1/2 tsp (Food Grade Epsom Salts)

Has anyone tried clen + fast?

Currently fasting because I got an upset stomach yesterday and couldn't sleep. Stomach ache, back pain and chills.
I have no hunger since my stomach still hurts and my energy is fucked up. I'll see if my stomach improves doing a 20:4 fast. If not, I will do 36-48h.

Morning of day 7 of a SJ fast. Just weighed in at 200 on the dot, down from ~212 starting.

Energy still great, mental focus still strong, but I feel that hunger. Even when drinking plenty of SJ, I am utterly craving food. Not to the point of folding, but enough that I think about it frequently.

Please tell me you all realize that 99.9% of fit healthy individuals accomplish their goals by eating healthy appropriately-sized portions of food, and working hard everyday.. right??

I'm not anti-fasting (especially for people who are hugely obese and have binge eating disorders), and I'm glad you all have found your niche and you're all trying to make it..

But some posters ITT who act like fasting on salt water only, for 30 days at a time, for the rest of your life, is the only way to lose weight and be Jow Forums, are brainwashed and narrow minded fools. They spend way too much time on youtube watching videos (by posters with credentials you don't vet), and buy it as Gopel. No different from a cult member or a religious individual.. You need to go outside and socialize and spend more time with actual humans living in society.

If you're new to these fasting threads, just be sure to take everything you read with a grain of salt. No one responding to you is a medical professional and just because they watched some video doesn't make the information contained within it correct. Every person is different but 99.9% of fit and healthy individuals eat healthy and workout daily and don't ever need to try drastic crash diets.

Trial and Error is your friend. Try out a routine for a few months, and if that doesn't work, try something different. I believe Fasting is a last resort after you've tried everything you can.

Not really. Tried a few myself and gave up after 48 hours, whereas water fasting (on SJ) for weeks on end is perfectly possible.

There ARE reasons why dry fasts are more effective than water fasts (autophagy, clearing skin problems, dealing with water retention, etc.), but they aren't the advantages you've listed.

I'm about to go on holiday tomorrow and I'm planning on fasting on snake juice for another 3-4 days. Problem is that its a family reunion sort of a thing, and I don't know how to keep my fast up and not eat alongside everyone without seeming completely autistic sipping on my saltwater. These guys are very traditional and will just think of me as retarded 100%.

Then break your fast for the occasion, stick to ketogenic foods and go back to fasting immediately afterwards.

New to fasting. Did some quick searches about consuming coffee at the same time. Drinking coffee doesn't affect the fast when kept under 50 calories. Coffee is without sweeteners and other milk or creams. pure.

Yes. Black, unsweetened coffee has about 5 calories per cup. Not exactly "Nil by mouth" fasting, but my argument has always been that it perks me up and allows me to fast for longer so fuck anyone who thinks I shouldn't.

Sorry dude, but this has totally not been my experience at all.

I posted about this in the last thread... you have NO idea how frustrating it is to implement a caloric deficit, carefully measure/weigh foods, carefully eat your 5 small meals a day, religiously get to the gym for lifting + extra cardio, turn down all alcohol, snacks, and social foods... and watch the scale literally stay unchanged week over week.

I'm not arguing that I beat the laws of thermodynamics. As a 6'2" 215lb guy eating 1800 calories while lifting, though, I should have been dropping a lot. Maybe I miscounted calories, didn't calculate the right TDEE, or (somehow) ate bigger portions than I thought. Maybe my infrequent cheat meals somehow reversed all of the progress of 7-10 days at a deficit. It doesn't matter. What matters is that I was being insanely disciplined, hungry all the time, and generally feeling weak/miserable to absolutely no effect.

For years I'm obsessing over diet and exercise. I try paleo, keto, IF, and nothing works. Again, I'm not saying that I was doing it RIGHT — clearly I wasn't if I wasn't dropping weight —but I felt like I was absolutely killing myself, and seeing nothing.

Finally, I start fasting, and it's like a damn miracle. Body fat is melting, I feel amazing, and I'm able to thoroughly re-evaluate my relationship with food. It's incredible. At long last, I'm actually going to be the "after" in my "before and after" story.

So enough with the bland aphorisms about how "99.9%" of people lose weight. You're taking the insanely complex stew of hormones and biomechanics that create obesity and trying to write it off as simpler than it actually is.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, fast harder, fatty!

I'm down 25 kilos since Jan 1st thanks to /fast/.

To anyone calling this a crash diet or a gimmick, it's not. Not as long as you stick with it and let nature take its course. I barely fast these days, only OMAD, but it's because I have repaired myself to the point where I eat healthy. The most important was in January-march where I would consistently do 5 day fasts, which made me crave healthy food. Never in my life did I crave green pepper, and fish. Now it's like my favourite food. I barely est sugar, and it simply does not tempt me. Fasting is literally the most based thing invented, even more based than the tv show Nathan For You.

Can you explain this to me? Is that how many calories our body gets from each of those macros on fast? That point where the carbs and fat/ketones line cross would be where your piss starts to turn keto sticks darker? And the protein line on fast, is that how many calories a day (converted to g of protein) of muscle burn you get since you aren't eating protein on fast?

Post body faggot. The only fasting skeptics are frauds and fatties who don't ever fast. Fasting is the cheapest and most effective, healthy, means of staying in good shape (in addition to not eating like shit and exercising, which everyone should do) period.

I did a couple of long fasting sessions over the last few months and I think I'm biotin deficient
got some deterioration on one of my nails and noticed hair thinning and itchy skin
I would also eat raw eggs on refeeds often but apparently egg-white, when uncooked, has a protein that binds to biotin and makes it unabsorbable

When you're fasting make sure you get alot of water soluble vitamins when eating again bros, they need to be replenished since they dont store in fat

Sure. When you say you are "very muscled" what body fat % are we talking here?

Bodyfat is at around 16% I think. That might be low according to some standards, but I NEVER got below that regardless of my diet or exercise.

I did on a 7 day black fast starting around June 1st. I'm a retard, I put two drops under my tongue on the second day and it was horrible. Take my advice, if you have to use clen, don't couple it with fasting.

Generally the longer the fast the more dramatic the improvement. Currently on a 20 day liquid fast supported by Snake Juice to lose around 20KG.

Just do your routine but at a weight you're not pushing things with to remind your body they're in use. The main cause of muscle atrophy is disuse. You just won't be making huge muscle gains on a fast.

I've fapped a few times while fasting, mostly out of boredom, and I can barely get into it. I imagine sex would be really hard.

The good news is that it comes roaring back when you start eating.

If you want to make it to a month? Yes. If you go without it you're going to feel like absolute shit, even if you do everything else right. You might even have to break the fast--not the end of the world, but not ideal if you want to make a month--just to keep your electrolytes up. Without salt and potassium you'll feel faint (you might even pass out), generally weak, and probably more than a little sickly. Problems with thinking, if you need a clear head for work, clearly also come up if you aren't keeping up on your salt.

Daily reminder that black coffee will not disrupt your fasts. Caffeine and some of the other substances in coffee will actually increase your metabolic rate and help you enter ketosis faster.
