Took the words out of my mouth. To me, this board is true positive reinforcement. Do good, get good feedback. Do bad and get shit on. I know from a psychological standpoint that’s not great but this place isn't for therapy. Also that “work at your own pace, you’re doing great sweetie” bullshit is more than just annoying, it’s genuinely unhealthy.

Also this place is funny and among the shitposts I’ve found some solid advice. Not in a sad “I have no friends” way, but this is the first place online I’ve found that I genuinely feel a part of, for better or worse. I have friends but their motivation is sporadic so this is often the only place I can get consistent fitness discussion. It’s a very human forum and I like that a lot, autism and all.

Jow Forums is unironically the first place that gave me advice that's actually worked so I keep coming back, learning new stuff, improving my routines, and finding inspiration.

Like other anons said, a lot of it has to do with the brotherhood of fitizens. Something about health and exercise can really bring people together (like most hobbies I suppose), and the brotherhood is reinforced by the fact we are on Jow Forums. Its been going downhill recently but I still browse
