At what weight did your overhand grip (without chalk) gave up on deadlift? Mine starts to slipping out of left hand (it seems to be weaker than right) at 3rd rep at 120 kg (~265 lbs). I also have shitty 29 mm barbell with no rotating sleeves, is it harder on grip than olympic barbell?
At what weight did your overhand grip (without chalk) gave up on deadlift...
I'm at 135kilo for 4x 8 reps, and I'm still fine
I do use these gloves because otherwise my hands are too sweaty for me to hold the bar
1x5x110 kg
>what is chalk
hahhahahahah
fuck your chalk bro, I'm at a home gym
I squeezed out 3 reps of 155kg on tuesday double overhand
I also have problem with sweat, but I think I rather use chalk than gloves.
I switched to using a hex bar when I hit 4pl8s with a regular one, grip is fine now. I think I was doing mixed grip between 120 and 180 kilos.
Probably at 120kg I have to switch to mix grip, but I try to use overhand for as long as posible as it helps me build strenght for them power cleans
Once I hit 100kg my hands would spin the bar (no chalk) I started training grip strength with farmers walks and by hanging from climbing jugs with open hand grip. Im currently at 120kg (for 5) with no grip issues
Can get 3 reps out of 120kg before needing mixed grip same as you.
Fucking annoying.
Can do a good 8 reps double overhand at 120kg on a good day, have to switch to mixed after that. I don't use chalk or gloves ever though even for my higher weight sets. .
I’m not great at deadlifts but I can do 300lbs/135(?)kg double overhand for 1 rep, and grip is what prevents another rep up.
If I used alternating grip, I’d sure I could do heavier/more.
I tried hook grip one time, gave myself tendonitis in my right hand so I’ll never do it again.
Nothing wrong about chalk, it just keeps your hands dry.
As for me, not sure, I switched to hook grip around 140 kg for 5 reps, but even then I didn't have problems with double overhand grip.
3 x 130kg is when overhand grips fails on the 4th.
can do 3 x 195 mixed grip
Right now I can do up to 6 reps at 365 double overhand unassisted and maybe 2 at 405. Working on hitting 5 at 405.
I dont know, I never tried to push it because Im not literally retarded. I used straps/ mixed grip since the beginning pretty much
my max deadlift is like 260kg and the last warm up set I do with double overhand is like 180-200kg tho. lmao at all you fags cucking yourself by only double overhanding when I can doh double what you can without trying
I did a double overhand at 170 kg / 375 lb yesterday, that is as high as I have ever tried without mixed grip.
I did a huge deload starting in April where I dropped my working weight a lot and did only double overhand to force my grip to catch up with my back. I still do, saving mixed grip solely for heavy singles and doubles.
>what is hook grip
Hook grip is not natty
I use conventional or hook grip on all my warmups and then mixed grip if necessary. For whatever reason, some days the hook grip feels really good and solid without much pain, and then other days it kills me and I have to switch
About 190kg ish
I train grip and my highest work sets are around 170 max so I still double OH everything, did 200kg with mixed and shit felt easy to hold
I have been able to overhand about ~85% of my max at any given time. Dunno if that will stay true as I get stronger.
your max is obviously very low
Just hit 245lbs no grip problems in sight. Also I have 5 inch wrists
I have done 150 without mixed, and I'm testing 3pl8 as max next week so while far from great I wouldn't call it very low, merely low at worst. I don't see any reason for the trend to stop quite yet though.
315 for a rep.
I alternate mixed grip for those symmetrical gains.
Mixed grip deadlifts are bicep snappers
315 poons
Thankfully that’s my max
Just did 2x155kg double over hand no chalk, no belt.
I could feel it fall out if sweaty hands.
