I know op sounds like he's gatekeeping, but you actually should avoid mixed grip as long as possible. I used it pretty much from the get go and it caused me grip strength to be way weaker than it should've been.

Yeah, you should pull double overhand as long as possible. Tbh it's a lot more comfortable than mixed grip, I should just use hook again but I stopped for some reason

I switch to mixed grip after 270 x5. I could pull 3pl8 double overhand for 1 though, but that's about it.

Do you do farmer walks? They were a tremendous help to my grip strength, absolutely nothing came even close. Another very good exercise was rolling a weight on my fingertips then squeezing it back up again, like in picture related. Did it with dumbbells though. I can now go 140kg on double overhand without straps when I used to struggle with 110kg, and I'm not slowing down much

Of course, deadlifting too is a given
