SS, calisthenics, boxing/wrestling/judo/homojitsu, sprints... you have a million choices. Just start training.
The CREW part is way more vital. Your chances in a race war will be proportional to the size and quality of your friend group.

Look at how actual militaries train. Cardio is king, so start with Couch to 5K, and then continue with bridge to 10k. Bodyweight fitness is important too. Try the "100 pushups" website and its spinoff for that.
Probably a good idea to do SS or Stronglifts a few times a week, but cardio and bodyweight are more important. Training boxing or mma can increase your mental toughness so that might be a good idea.
I'd like to have a more in depth convo on this. Do militaries train cardio+calisthenics because it's optimal, or because that's what's available? If they hypothetically could gym everybody up, would they? Why or why not?

ok, true, so that points towards a need for strength+endurance, but what is the advantage of that being in the form of calisthenics? I actually personally like high rep calisthenics and agree with the rationale, but I primarily do high rep lifting instead for other reasons. That's why I'm interested in all aspects of the rationale

They do cardio because it's optimal. If you look at how they train special operations, which has a very high budget and can afford specialized gyms, some units have a reputation for lifting weights and some don't. They ALL require insane levels of cardio though.
I'd guess the reasons are
1: they have to be able to cover long distances (might not as relevant in a racewar)
2: You have to be able to move quickly during a firefight
3: Gunfights can last hours. If you get too tired to fight, you're dead
Calisthenics might not be optimal. You have to be able to move your bodyweight over and over during a firefight, but a mix of weights and calisthenics might be more effective.
