No fucking clue but I have a hernia net too.
Easily the best way to do cardio other than actual rowing
i prefer rowing barbells
God tier cardio
...
it's worth it
I love how many different types of cope people invent to not just run or swim. Running and swimming are the most effective forms of cardio (or hiit if you do sprints). All this other shit is garbage
i don't get it
he bought a rowing machine
I like to pretend I'm a viking rowing somewhere, like storming a citadel or just heading back upriver with plunder
I prefer to run or use stationary bikes
You're unfit to call yourself a man if you can't do a contunuous 5k row.
my favorite cardio as of late. most people at the gym have shit form. did a pyramid of 1/2/3/4/3/2/1 minutes with rests equal to each interval. was brutal. i love that i can go hard with it multiple times a week.
>one of the most renowned forms of total body cardio in existence
>garbage
Fucking based.
Does imagining yourself doing alpha shit increase your testosterone?
in before someone who actually rows tells us we're all doing it wrong.
fuck you man i can't instantly be an expert at everything
>5k
I'd laugh if your statement didn't also make me sad about the current state of men
>Running and swimming are the most effective forms of cardio
>Running
Enjoy your busted knees at age 40
How short is Joe Rogan to make Alex Jones look big wtf
>call themselves Jow Forums
>can't even pull a sub 7 minute 2k
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
If I already do a serious weight lifting routine will adding session of rowing a week make any extra benefit for hypertrophy ?
5' 7''
honestly bros, I fucking love adding this in after weight training.
Just watch some youtube videos on form to make sure you engage your legs properly and have at it.
Great stuff, I absolutely fucked my back up with this shit
I find rowing will smoke my legs on intervals. After all, legs should be the main power source of the movement.
I run in water, so no knee joint damage you fat obese COCK
>rowing is shit
>destroying your joints or bathing in clorine and piss is much better
Based
then do it with a straight back next time
look up form videos. also lower your drag factor.
Airdyne bikes and Rowing machines are the best forms of cardio
>runnig
LMFAO running is the ultimate meme it doesnt change shit in your body and its also retarded
its expensive as fuck
They're good. For most if my cardio I just commute by bicycle, gets me a good hour every day but if I'm feeling froggy I'll try to set a ~5 minute pace and bust out 8k in 40 minutes.
You're doing it wrong
I hate the erg, but god damn do I respect it.
Only has access to pools.
I feel for you

Swimming is the best cardio
Cycling is second
So water or air row machines Jow Forums?
I've never used a water erg, but i've never seen a real rower use anything else but concept 2
I rowed for 2 years in hs. Sucked man. I was in great shape but I feared the erg
Really?
From what i heard is that the water ones are closer to really rowing then the air ones.
Due to that you also got less chance for injuries.
Not sure where you heard that but I've never seen an OTW rower use anything but a c2 or an rp3 both of which are air resistance.
WHERE CAN I GET THAT SHIRT
Water rowers are much much easier, you’ll find yourself pulling insane splits on them. Stick to c2k or at least a fan one if you can. Our coach used to bully anyone who tried to pass off water rower times as real achievements
Same user, I still get anxious even when using them to warm up for something else
Yeah me too. It's a magnificent torture divice
Thanks i am going for air then, but c2 is a bit out of my price range.
what are your 5k times?
i've been erging regularly for about two weeks and can't get below 21 minutes for shit. i always thought my cardio was good but damn.
Depends completely on your drag factor.
I've been trying to smash 2000m in under 8 minutes with a 10 drag factor, sitting at about 8.35 at the minute.
The damper setting of ten can mean completely different things on any machine depending on its age, how clean the fan is ect. To get your actual drag factor go into settings and it will prompt you to row. A good place to start Is around 140 for 2ks but can change up or down depending on personal preference
literally the most based piece of gym equipment. be like your ancestors and row across the ocean to steal land and spices
Cause I dont enjoy running or swimming dude? Quit trying
i have no idea how to use them and i hurt my back everytime i do but they pass the time nicely
seriously need to correct my posture though, fucking hurts to get up from the machine sometimes it gets so bad
>he doesn't know how to forefoot strike
>he wears thick soled shoes
C2 isn’t the be all and end all don’t worry user, so long as it’s an air rower it should be fine
Id lowing rowing machines if the maximum resistance setting wasnt for complete pussies. It doesnt do shit for me
It's not a cable machine you mongrel
based and Jow Forumspilled
A 5k row, my negus
Best cardio up there with swimming. If I ever have enough money to fit one of those bigass machines in my house I'm buying it, love it
Serious question: is rowing supposed to be difficult? The rowers at my gym, I set it to the hardest resistance level, but it's barely a workout. I don't even break a sweat after doing it for 30 minutes.
This thread inspired me to do 3k on the row machine at 130 draft before my normal workout today. Was pretty good. I'll go for 5k next time.
you are doing it wrong then. set drag rate to 120-130. set workout to 500 m / 1 min rest. Do 8 intervals under 1 minute and 45 seconds. if you are not breathing hard you are dead.
LITERALLY what I do
>Wear as little as possible
>Fully noise cancelling headphones set to near max
>Play a heavy rain sound track
>Play The Last Kingdom OST over it
>Loud grunts for even sicker gains
Indeed
Implying that would be a long term solution
Was rowing 10K most days before I got sick leave for a concussion, doc told me I could row again a few weeks ago but I haven't got round to it. Really need to get back on the horse now, fuck's sake.
>most days
Except for that three-week gap from May to June, kek.
let me tell you a story when i was just a wee ladd starting to lift
>at the time i was using my school gym around 10 years ago now
>i would pay to go there after school and lift
>be walking around gym
>realise i'm falling
>feel pain in gut
>am winded
>i spy two older females laughing at me
>i push myself up and realise i have tripped over one rowing machine and winded myself on the other
twas a painful day bros
that story sucked. take it to reddit next time.
Is there a big difference between the pull string rowers and the ones with the two handles? I notice the latter ones tend to be on the cheap models.
Also I wish I wasn't too fat to use them, they look fun.
fuck you too you , haven't been to reddit yet, and i never will, fuck off and have a pokey bum wank you sad old poof cunt
>running
enjoy your fucked up knees when youre 40
In your blood stream? Possibly

Placebos are powerful
