no expert but from what i understand, the weight gain you can get from creatine is caused by water in the muscles. so if its about looks, creatine should still help, as it does not affect the fat around your muscles. so if your muscles are pumped up with water they should still look more defined as long as the fat is gone.

the only side effects ive ever heard mentioned are voimiting, diarrhea and maybe maybe some liver/kidney stuff. it might make you feel generally less fit i guess.

Seem like you didn't read the study.
DHT levels were raised even after weeks of returning to a maintenange dose after the loading phase.
The study is criticized because it said that Creatine causes hairloss.
But what it actually showed was that creatine causes elevated DHT levels whihc is theorized too cause hairloss in individuals later on which are gennetically predisposed to DHT sensitivity which is why men normally turn bald.
The methods of the study have been peer reviewed and have been found to be correct. However there doesn't seem to be another study that tried to replicate the results.
So unless you are sensitive to DHT like roughly 50% of all men you can take creatine without worrry.

Creatine kinase indicates damage of muscle cells, it's always spiked for a time after workouts, sometimes it can even stay high for days. Cpk(creatine kinase) has nothing to do with creatine monohydrate.

Creatine works by being stored in your muscles so they thought increasing the concentration at first will result in faster creatine stored on your muscles. Research then showed that it does increases creatine concentration faster than not loading but the benefits from it are not proportional since adding a few more reps a week before doesn't translate into a great muscle development because surprise surprise, muscle takes a while to grow and stimulus gets you so far. Just keep taking 5g everyday
