Makin' it.

Congrats bro! I hit 135 for the first time ever on OHP today, and managed 5x3. Hoping to hit 2pl8 bench within the next couple months.

GMI. I am 5 lbs away from lmao2plaet (squat) and still a ways longer to go for 2pl8 bench (155 now)

Omedetou, i'm still in 1.5ish purgatory forever.

Use a belt

GMI

Proud of you, user. See you at the top.

Do I really need a belt?

what no you’re not supposed to use a belt until you can squat 500lbs beltless for 20 reps didn’t you read starting strength????

Just hit 3pl8 diddly

>failed 45kg bench

Only hit four reps x 3 on my 165 bench tonight. Feels bad.

>benched 185lbs last week
>failed to finish a set of 190 this week
is this where the noob gains end?

Means you're reaching the summit of your noob gains fren. Here's where the fun begins

deadlifting is the easiest of them all soo.. of course its way higher

I heard that tall people usually have a hard time with the bench and better relationship with deadlifts and/or pulling exercises.

A belt could help break plateaus, especially if you're not bracing your core properly or experience lumbar pain.

When you can't progress anymore from workout to workout, after multiple weight reset (or deloads, for some), you're no longer a beginner.

happy for you bro. feels good hitting 2pl8 bench for the first time.

If my noob gains take me to a 45kg bench then I must be an anorexic girl without knowing it

>Just hit 3pl8 diddly

>Notice my man tits and my huge soda gut are almost completely gone
>Pull a quick flex, arms are looking nicer

Still weak and no numbers to brag about, but I actually feel like I might make it bros.

all of you faggots need to start posting bodyweight when posting your bench stats

150lber here

can bench 185lbs, 5x3

I'm almost there god damn it
Going to go for 220 this wednesday I WILL MAKE IT I WILL

Attached: fma.jpg (970x545, 290K)

I feel ya man, I stalled at 185 for almost 5 months then I got a miracle growth spurt despite being 19 and now my bench is shooting up and I'm keeping weight on finally
You will make it, time is all it takes

I bench twice a week
What kind of program should I do to get it up to lmao2pl8?
Best set was 8*155lbs

>DL almost 3pl8
>Squat 2pl8 with ease
>Benching 1pl8
And then
>Can only OHP 0.5pl8
What the fuck

I failed an 80lb bench

Started seriously training at the start of june. Almost back to my squat record of 240. Recently set a bench record of 150, which is the strongest I have beeb in my life. Sadly I am now sick and will probably be at least a week behind.

Remember: these are the people giving you advice on Jow Forums

Jelly, my ultimate goal is 2/3/4/5. Currently at ~0.5/0.5/2/2

Been hitting 1/2 for a while now but I don't know if I stalled or if my mind isn't into it anymore. Been lifting hard to make it to 1/2/3/4 in 1 year starting from scratch and once I hit that I kinda stalled.

Hit 280lbs for one on bench this morning before work. Was very sleepy, tired and hungry. I think I can do more. Congrats to all the anons making it out there. 315 is my goal.

>miracle growth spurt
Did you respond to any of those meme images during this period? Which one?

Attached: 35282.jpg (729x782, 104K)

Progress matters, you've begun to master yourself, now keep it up

What are all of your body weights though?

2 pl8 for someone that's only like 175-190 range is pretty remarkable.

55kg ohp for 5 reps, 85kg bench for 3 reps.
once we reach 100 bench we start the cut

Post body, we’re the same person

>literally reforming her newborn baby

It would've been ugly anyway looking at her, but whatever.

For reps right? Haha

I did 245 for 9 at 218lbs this morning. Not bragging, just feeling good being back in the gym after a long layoff and pleased my strength is still climbing despite cutting. Bench PRs are the best PRs

Op here, 180lbs

Nice man that's awesome

I want to know this as well. I was thinking of doing it at the start of 2020.

Just looked it up and it is similar to what I do however I usually do this
135x10
155x10
185x10
195x5
205x5

are you a girl

6'6" tall user here
2pl8 bench
3pl8 deadlift
3pl8 squat

I'm definitely not a good deadlifter

We all started somewhere, user

>hit my knee real bad
>can't do squats for at least another month
Hold me, brahs. I can feel the gains slipping away

>tfw you're trying to sleep and your mom is shaking you like a blender bottle

GVT is basically made for people doing assloads of steroids

>people doing assloads of steroids
ah, the old 'east german natty'

>tfw at 1/2/3/4 for reps
>but /fat/ so it doesnt count

Attached: 1391193866358.jpg (1500x1500, 288K)

this buy skinnyfat and builtfat at the same time idk how to explain it

5 sets of 10 probably works better for intended purpose desu. completing full 10 sets of 10 reps is just cardio

my bench is 68Kg 1RM. progress is slow. hope to get 2pl8 some day

good job user, i can only bench 70kg right now, but imma reach 100kg some day like you, a strong man.

>tfw you're 6'5, kinda fat, and can't bench lmao1pl8
I don't even do them anymore, I cope with military press

Attached: 1535515436166.jpg (640x466, 43K)

what's your OHP brah?

you want to imply us that you can ohp 1pl8 and cant bench 1pl8?

lmao1pl8 kek

that's pretty good desu.

WHERE IS PINK PREG1, GOD FUCKING DAMN IT

I failed a 85lb bench last Saturday. Goin back to 75lb at high volume today and try again this Saturday. Get back on the horse.

let's not push ourselves too hard here. wouldn't you rather watch a movie, and make popcorn instead?

Does 2pl8 mean two 45lb plates on each side of the bar or one 45lb plate on each side?

2. It's 225lb or 100kg.

Thanks

nice :)

Getting there buddy thay was me a few months ago now im at

105 ohp
185 bench
225 squat
275 deadlift

Shoo shoo

I hit 2pl8 OHP on Saturday putting me at 2/3.5/5.75/6. I'm testing Squat and Deadlift 1RM this weekend so hoping for 6/6.5.

>tfw scapulae always hurt after bench so switched to DB bench
>tfw it's a lot more fun

nigger are you me

Do your recovery and mobility work, user. Shoulders are the easiest to fuck up, especially if you're not pulling equal amounts to your pressing movements.
Face pulls. Every day.

He should be able to comfortably hit 4pl8 before the end of this year if he focuses on it.
Do more hyperextensions, RDL's, Conventionals and Pendlay Rows to strengthen that posterior and hammies.

Congrats user, how far long? Weight and height?
Last week I hit 1.85 pl8, I hope to hit 2 pl8 at the end of the year

Finally hit 3pl8 squat for reps today anons :)
150 bw, thats double my bw.
We're all gonna make it.

Attached: 1472377036446.jpg (400x387, 74K)

Noob question, but is 2pl8 100kg or 120kg?
i.e is a plate 20kg or 25kg for the purpose of 1/2/3/4?

1pl8 = 60kg
2pl8 = 100kg
3pl8 = 140kg
4pl8 = 180kg

It seems like it's pretty common for people to say that 180-225 is the hardest part to progress. I started lifting very recently and my starting point for bench is 160x4 which should be equivalent to about 175 1RM. My current goal is 225 for reps. Will I still see newbie gains even if I'm not starting from anorexic tier or will the progress be slow from the start?

Cheers

180-225 is the hardest part for manlets with shit genetics.
