grew up mormon. Some stuff is pretty backwards, but it's not all bad. In my opinion its greatest benefit is the network of people it provides to those inside. That said, it's insular and in my experience looks down on or pities those not part of the church. Also outright banning premarital sex, alcohol, drugs and even coffee prevents people from learning important lessons about addiction and the nature of "sin".

I mean that if you want to learn about a religion, any religion, you should talk to people that follow it.
When you listen to paid preachers or to paid criticizers (anyone that get money of fame for shilling), you'll get a very biased.

Anyone who doesn't hate mormons has never worked with them. They are jew lites, all working at the same place, attaining leadership positions, and making things better for mormons who they prefer to hire. Entire businesses are all mormons, except for the criminals they hire. Particularly pest control, but they infest all door to door businesses.
