maybe once a week with some pizza or chinese, I've gotten pretty good at cooking so the desire to cheat is pretty minimal

Like once or twice a month if I go out with friends or family to dinner or to a social event of some kind. Even then, I usually try and compensate by eating less during the day or doing some extra cardio.

I think they mean American Chinese food not real Chinese cuisine. I have Chinese cuisine with my gf often, I just stick to grilled fish and things like that or filleted fish soups

When I’m cutting, usually once every week or 2 I’ll cheat up to my maintenance cals, maybe a couple hundred over, especially if my cut stalls. I honestly think (broscience incoming) that as you’re enduring a prolonged caloric deficit your metabolism will down-regulate slightly, an occasional cheat meal/cheat day seems to kickstart it back up again. Plus it can satisfy that mental urge to cheat, just gotta watchout you don’t start to binge regularly.

I eat kebap two-three times a week, pizza at least once, chips/crisps every day, ice cream every day. Man, it feels great to be young. Shit diet, average training, and your body is still fine. I smoke weed every day, drink at least two beers, I eat this disgusting shit I just listed, and I still look acceptable. I’ve had people telling me this for over a decade, still haven’t seen anything drastic happen. I’ve been lifting hard and eating like this since I was like 17, I’m 29 now. Apparently I should be experiencing “test drops” and “fat gains” but I haven’t seen any of this. I’m actually in better shape at 29 than I was at 21. Diets are mostly for fatties who never worked a day in their life and so they need to do everything they can to lose weight. Not even saying that as an insult really, it is what it is. All I do for my diet is make sure I get enough protein and stay away from sugar. Other than that I do whatever I feel like.

My main point overall is that all of these people saying “don’t do this” or “don’t do that” are usually coming from the viewpoint of somebody who doesn’t exercise. Sure, if you live a sedentary lifestyle then downing fast food everyday is going to have some negative impacts on your health. If you live an active lifestyle downing fast food everyday still probably isn’t what I would consider “healthy”. But at least the fast food in the active lifestyle is being used as fuel instead of just piling up as unnecessary bodyfat.

I guess different things work for different people, but I’ll drink a Coke Zero or some black coffee if I’m tempted to binge. I typically eat peanuts/almonds as a snack and I’ll throw in a couple m&ms or chocolate chips to satisfy my sweet tooth. Chinese food and pizza are my weaknesses, I try to make them myself and fit them into my macros, it’s easy to cook up some teriyaki chicken and rice, scramble a couple eggs and throw them in with the rice, or make your own pizza with tortillas, tomato sauce and shredded mozzarella.
