I have low blood pressure, docs have literally prescribed me coffee (either in pills or in drink) and I just said fuck it and become addicted to it ever since. I have never felt dizzyness, loss of vision when standing up, etc - all the sympthoms of low BP - ever since.

Sure, if you are prone to high BP then you probably shouldn't go for it. But saying "coffee is bad" is retarded.

It's not that I can't enjoy life without it, it's that the normal person's baseline is only reachable for me via the use of coffee.

I just drink enough coffee at 1:30 to get me over the post noon dip in energy and by the time I get to the gym at 4:45 I feel alert still and ready to go but not too amped.

I get super paranoid about 2hrs after drinking with certain beans, and it lasts 3-4hrs after. Must be something chemically in them that causes it.

I've tried switching to tea a few times this year, and switched back quickly when some deadline came up. Slept amazingly when I went off though. I'll get off 100% eventually.

It is literally an addictive drug that makes you dependent on it to even feel 'normal'. Once you are hooked you become a permanently more tired and brainfoggy version of yourself and you can only temporarily counter this by consuming the drug.

Aside from this, coffee DOES reduce the quality of your sleep, even if you think you sleep X amount of hours, the quality of those hours will be less, and caffeine has an inflammatory effect on the gut.

If these things really do not fall under your definition of "bad", then i would really like to what your criteria is.

Sure you feel less tired because it washes away all that adenosine that you were supposed to have cleared while sleeping, but that’s only one facet of all the restorative processes of sleep. Coffee is OK in moderation. You can also drink yerba mate, it has some good sides and holds you longer. Try to take breaks from both. Few times a week with no stimulants. Maybe only mild tea, white or green, to ease the transition. You should feel a difference.
