How did you get injured?

i didnt because i dont lift

Heavy squats followed by heavy deadlifts while I was deadlifting my lower back popped now I don’t dead no mo and no back squats only front

why was he lifting so much?

I have no idea but Im back now bitch

Playing basketball for 3 hours. Grade 2 hammy strain. That was a couple years ago in good now

>hernia
weight lifted at 15 years old with some older guys that didnt really know anything except bench press. "if you wanna do legs youre gonna have to do them on your own time," was a phrase thats been said to me before. i had no idea what i was doing so i followed their advice. went down a long embarrassing road making zero gains for years. finally got hurt at work of all places lifting 36lb boxes and twisting over and over. blew a hernia, got fat, took years before i finally did anything again. thanks to Jow Forums im stronger and safer than ever after only 3 months

Why don't you keep squatting and deadlifting, but just not do heavy sets right after the other?

hurt my back squatting last year and i havent been able to squat since without a piercing pain in my lower back

Wide OHP and incorrect squatting grip fucked up my left shoulder. It isn’t that bad but it comes back every now and then.

based

Ran 8 miles everyday with shit form while weighing 80kg

Because deadlifting is stupid and not necessary if you just want to have a aesthetic physique and aren’t a professional athlete same with back squats

I moved my neck during OHP

I accidentally the whole smith machine

tweaked my back twice and have a bulging disk (though I can't say for sure it's the lifting).
Also fractured a rib squatting with my belt too tight last week reeee

Tore my labrum on incline bench. I failed, racked one side and the other side came down and violently dislocated my shoulder.

Went too heavy on leg press and tore my meniscus and now I have old man knees. And threw my back out once DL without warming up to """""""save energy"""""". Now I have a hernia and I feel like I'm 55 at the age of 21

Rack pull with bad form and rack elevation two years ago fucked my back and I awoke with a fucked shoulder last February.

I'm mostly fine now.

Before I discovered FIT i was happy cycling, rock climbing and playing basketball. ZERO injuries. Then I learnt you had to squat, deadlift and bench to be a real man. Now my shoulder and knees are fucked. Thanks for the great advice FIT.

Are you the guy who was posting about his back popping during deadlifts?

Shit sucks man, hope you're good/improving.

I once dropped a bar with 255 lbs on it on my face while benching :/

Egolifting
Autism driven necessity to finish a set with bad form
Distraction

former tumbler. end of a 6+ hour tumbling / trickinf session i attempted roundoff > backhandspring > triple full. snapped up my achilles, was out for months. shit sucked breh

Not much anyone can do about hernias besides slightly reducing the risk. Some people can rack pull 95% RM for years and never get them, others get them grabbing their laptop bag out of the backseat of their car.

It's an undetectable congenital difference in the internal ab wall more than anything that determines risk. Surgery works well tho.

I dipped 1 time

Twisted my knee playing football, my knee still works but it is prone to small injuries now.

Tried to spear tackle my gf onto the bed but she pussied and landed badly. Hurt my shoulder. Probably would have broken her in half so I'm glad she did.

Only bothers me when I try to sleep on that side but it's lasted long enough to be a classed an injury.

what broke?

I did atg squats

buttwink

Good thing you're not strong otherwise that might have been bad

fell down doing squats, landed on my wrist

only smith machine now

>ulnar nerve entrapment, cubital tunnel
Repetitive motion from work, trying to force a narrow grip on the squat, not varying my chin up grip, and neglecting isolations.
At least, those are the things that I changed that made the problems go away

tfw lack asian hip flexibility

Fatso

Probably not a good idea to (back)squat and deadlift heavy on the same day. At least not for reps. After heavy backsquats, my back gets really fatigued and doing heavy deadlifts in that state would be fairly retarded!

You're welcome! Too bad your shitty body couldn't keep up with being a man. I guess it's back to being a spermdumpster for you Sunshine.

Fucked my leg up doing hard running. Like, anywhere between 3-9 mile 5 days a week. Its been 10 years and my leg STILL bothers me.
So fuck it, i just stopped running and switched to lifting.

I was shooting basketball and I took a jumpshot. Guess my lead knee turned a little inwards and it popped. Now its probably fucked forever.

Took a bad fall wrestling.

Imbalance in my calf muscle strength gave me some achilles tendinitis

i don't if it's an injury or not but i have had a lower back pain in the areas in pic related for more than 3 weeks and i can't bend or hunch my back and i have to always sit/sleep in a perfectly upright position like a fucking mummy.
i have always did deadlifts and squats with great form (i had it checked and i filmed it myself) but i guess no matter what you do they still put a lot of tension on your lower back that naturally has a bad tension balance

Fell 20 feet off a ladder and landed with all of my weight on my right leg. Took at least 6 months of healing and bodyweight squats to get my knee right again but my ankle still hurts and occasionally just swells on its own.

Broke both of my wrists skateboarding, multiple times. I have a screw in my left wrist now. I’ve had to have my hips fixed too from skateboarding, my ankle broke and that led to really bad arthritis and degeneration of my hips. My foot was rolled over by a small bulldozer at work and it flattened my foot out and pulled my hip badly. I just got that hip done. The foot doctor is having me try an orthotic but he seems like he wants to just go in and try to do whatever he can for my arch and my big toe etc. I crashed a motorcycle into a tree with primarily my right shoulder. I have a good rotator cuff tear and a big cyst where the impact was but I’m trying to heal that over time without surgery , very painful though. Can’t sleep on it which is a bitch. Perhaps the biggest injury was the concussion from the motorcycle crash. That was bad and I still have some issues from it. The head aches are just unreal I would trade them for any other injury lol.
The hip surgery fucked my knee up a little bit from the traction device , but I guess I was well informed of that risk so it is what it is
My days now are learning to walk again and use my arms properly again. Lots of basic balancing exercises across the whole body to hopefully recordinate proper movements in under the ROM limits I have

Dropped a dumbbell in a weird way while pressing it, tore my rotator cuff. Also fractured my hand wrestling (stuck it out while being taken down)

>be me playing a friendly match of footy with my bros
>Playing middlefield on the right side
>Guy on defense makes a pass that I have to sprint ~20 meters to get to
>Start sprinting
>step in a hole near the sideline halfway through

And that's how I fucking tore a ligament in my fucking ankle

As a fat, weak teenager I had multiple severe ankle sprains in both ankles. Thankfully no breaks.
I still have scar tissue and I have excessive anxiety while squatting or DL'ing due to this mental image I can't stop thinking about of rolling both ankles outward with heavy weight.

I started every chest and shoulders workout (so 4x week) testing my 1rm on a compound exercise and then preceded to do 10x4 on the first exercise with no warmup whatsoever or any accessory work for my rotator cuff. After years, my right shoulder was paralyzed from pain due to bursitis and I can no longer press weight advice my head. The only shoulder exercise I can still do are very light lateral raises

worst fear right here

14, second week lifting ever, was spotting another scrub and he dropped the squat bar without warning, caught it with my forearms and it jerked my left shoulder so violently it tore a nerve

A man ought to know his limitations

Get better though

Adjusted my wrists to a new position on an 80kg snatch (ironically to a more safe position) and there permanently sprained or something. Definitely a lesson to always warm up

Three small pops at the top of a deadlift.

Felt heat, then stiff. Not that painful to begin with. Racked my weights, went home immediately without changing/showering.

2nd day now, it's not as painful as yesterday.

I reckon I just pulled a muscle?

I considering the same.

Replace back squats with front squats and do back extensions and hip thrusts for lower back/glutes.

I'm sick of getting injured.

>what is Strong Lifts
>what is Starting Strenght

that's what you get for being a cardio tard

so you rather be a little weak bitch than strong with some slight back disconfort

could be facet joint syndrome. I have this and it has made my life hell for the last 7 months since the inflammation started pinching the nerve and now i get alot of pain down the legs aswell...I dont know what exactly caused this but it might be from deadlifting (even tho my form was good when recording myself)

joined a boxing gym at 220lb and started skipping rope every day for about 30min. I'm 170lb now but my knee makes a weird click when i extend it. plus it bends back more now, I'm starting to look like xavier renegade angel

Hit another cyclist (a big fat guy) and all my momentum threw me over my handlebars and into a storm drain. Fractured both elbows. I can feel my muscles melting away into atrophy

Same holy shit are you me. Didn't quit squats, but no mo deads for me
