basically this, the only good discords I've been in have had a small group of comfy friends rather than a mass advertised conglomerate that is on par with servers based around subreddits or found on discordlist. I know discord gets a lot of shit but I'm happy with what I've gotten out of it, especially with the smaller communities, the bigger ones can be fun to check out sometimes but I definitely wouldn't stay in a discord like the one your reply is addressed to is advertising because its all just memes and zoomers, it kind of reminds me of a big facebook page. well said user.
