kek user, same thing here except I didnt even get commuted, they just forced me to be evaluated. I say force because they straight up coerced me, they had two officers come make me get out of the car and they basically wouldnt let me go. I insisted I didnt want to do it, and also that I wasnt willing to pay money for any hospital services. they basically heavily implied that either i went with them willingly or they would arrest me. they had cops watching me the entire time, even when i went to the bathroom they wouldnt let me close the door and had a cop standing directly at the entrance watching my back while I pissed.

In the end I wasnt enough of a brainlet to say anything about harming myself
or others so they couldnt commit me and I got to walk free. Imagine my pleasure when they started sending me a bill for like, $800. they called me for months and id either not pick up or answer and tell them to get fucked.

they sent it to collections now so I guess my credit is FUBAR, but whatever fuck them. i refuse to pay that shit and i couldnt afford to even if i was willing

just wondering, how much can an involuntary hospitalization for mental reasons cost? Eg you're having a breakdown and someone calls the cops on you, or you call a help line and say you're suicidal and they send people to go and take you to the hospital. Assuming you have no insurance

It's paid by your social welfare services. Usually the cost of a normal appartment, except you also have free food and electricity.
