How much did a home gym cost you guys? Ever since management changed, I've been hating my gym.

A squat rack, a bench, a barbell, a couple of dumbbells and some weights cost me around 400~450 American bucks. Not the greatest quality, but it's just for me and I don't throw them around like a retard
>poorfag shit home gym with craigslist pl8s
can do the whole thing under $1000
>nice shit
more than it would cost to pay a gym membership for a decade
Worth it regardless.
KWAB
Also its pretty expensive and if you can't afford it all at once then honestly just get shit piece by piece and compromise by making some adjustments for the time being.
How reliable is your rack looking?
>more than it would cost to pay a gym membership for a decade
Assuming $40 per month, that's $4,800.
Will it really cost me $4,800 to get a decent power cage, an oly bar, nice oly plates, one pair of rubberized 45s, DL jack, a bench, rubber flooring, a set of dumbbells, and maybe a dip station?
Been three months with it now. So far looking good, doesn't really bounce and works nicely for me. Maybe it's cheap just because it's a "national product" and not some imported Rogue rack
look for sales, olybars and plates are the cheapest shit that you can get that's reliable for a few hundo. The power cage will be teh most expensive bit.
Tbh, you should be pay at most $2000 for all that.
Im spending around $500 a month, I am strongly considering just building a bad ass home gym for $2,000 and be done with it
>not going to $10/month master race gyms
>not intimidating normie 9-5ers with heavy compound lifts
>not having uncommitted fatties practically pay for all the equipment and never using it
>not picking up easy cardio thots off of the 40 treadmills
Thanks
Where the fuck do you find a gym for $10 a month. Every one around me is $30.
>$500 a month
on fucking what? do you have a membership to every gym in your city?
Lmao, no I hired a personal trainer because I was worried of injuring myself especially since I was born with hip and knee issues.
But these people are a fucking meme and this gym is shit and poorly run, so id rather just invest on a nice home gym
I bought some things new, such as the rack and my cable attachment and bench.
Most everything else i've purchased used.
I have
2 Olympic Barbells
1 EZ curl bar
An Olympic Plate tree
Cable attachment
A rack
Adjustable bench
Olympic Plates:
45,45,45,45,35,35,25,25,25,25,10,10,10,10,5,5,5,5,5,5,2.5,2.5
Dumbbell sets:
5,10,15,20,25,30,35,50,55,60
I use adjustable for the 40/45s (been keeping an eye out for them at my used sports stores)
Accessories
Gloves, Straps, Belt, Dip Belt, Foam pad for bar for squats, sets of J Hooks, set of dip attachments for cage, Rope attachment for Ye Facepulls, Various mats, some smaller 1 inch miscellenous weights.
All that for $1,500
Plus an eliptical i bought 10 years ago for about $1k that still works fine. Bought that used.
All you need is a good bar and 100kg in weights, a pull up bar and rings
You can get swole with this, cust much less than 400 bucks
Cost me probably around $200 after a few weeks of browsing craigslist. Only go to the gym for legs and cardio now.
There are tons of people who've given up and are willing to sell their shit dirt cheap because they "it's taking up too much space" and they "just don't want to deal with it". I got my bench and 125 lbs worth of plates for $20 from some guy who was just making excuse as to why he was selling it the entire fucking transaction. Like I don't give a fuck about the why, dude. I'm here to basically steal your shit before someone else does.
you can get a rack for cheap, and then just an olympic weight set. 400 altogether

About $300. 300lbs, bar, squat rack from Walmart.
I built mine from scratch. Cement dumbbells (poured cement into different sizes of cans) and barbell weights (poured cement into a 5 gallon bucket by the inch, used conduit in the center to protect it and use black gas pipe for the bar), wood bench covered in some kind of plastic coated cloth, pulley on the ceiling I use with a steel cable to lift one of the weights, chin up bar made of black gas pipe, some shock absorbing tiles from the hardware store. Downloaded and printed out routines for free. I'm not the best; but the equipment works.
Went to walmart, bought a barbell, and about 100lbs worth of weights in a used package for like $35
that's a hardcore setup
on ebay:
iron gym pull-up bar
muscle driver gymnastics rings
a dip station
then:
whatever second-hand stuff you can find within driving distance.
second part may make the first part mostly unnecessary
About 3500 euros, but we had to renovate the room itself, so about 70 % of that was construction material and paying the friends for their work.
Power rack with attachments costed me 430 euros, adjustable bench 110 euros, weights were 300 euros, barbell 112.5 euros on black friday sale (strength shop 2029 power bar), stationary bike (250 euros, but it was bought long before home gym) + some other stuff. I also had some old 1 inch weights and barbells which probably costed me 150 euros all in all.
Best investment that my older brother made (he didn't want to drive 20 minutes to gym after work so he financed it so that I could train him there). In mean time I also bought 25 kg and 10 kg bumper plates for deads/technique dead work with people.
Hoping to invest another 1000 euros in equipment soon (new power bar on level on ohio/texas power bars, cable machine for flies, facepulls etc.. and ssb bar), I feel like some women in clothing store with all the money I'm putting into it.
Here'a pic, I also have a loads more of other minor stuff in other room (stuff like gymnastic rings, other powerlifting belts, WL shoes, 1 inch weights etc....)
Holy shit where did you scrape up that much equipment that cheap, please help me out here.
