My lawyer informed me yesterday that I'm gonna be losing my licence. Fuck, I am dependant on my car to get to work & my family that lives a 2h drive away. All this because I drove high 3 months ago and I haven't been smoking since. Been to addiction counseling, been bettering myself. I am not a bad driver, even when I'm high. Being high & driving is definitely not the same as drinking & driving. You still got control over yourself, you anons that have had the experience can probably confirm this. Now I'll have to do medical & psychological exams with constant drug screenings. Hoping to have my licence back before 2020, got my goal in sight.
Just had to vent a little, thanks for listeningto my fucked up life stories user.
I find your story very interesting. In Canada we have big signs at bus stops that say no to driving while high.
How did you get caught?
Kevin Cook
I live in a country where weed is still illegal. In other words when you get caught driving high, the state will do everything to fuck you over. Mind you I didnt even have anything on me at that point.
As for how I got caught; >be 3AM in Jan 2019 >its freezing cold, -10C >been at 18th bday of a friend >couple friends ask me to drive them home, its a 10min drive but about a 45min walk through the freezing cold so I say yes >half way there I see a blue light flash up behind me >cops pull me over >I argue best as I can, do alcohol test & pass but they also want to do a drug test bc they found some weed on a friend of me >urine test positive for thc >they take me to the station & take a blood sample >it is also positive >few weeks later got a letter from the state where they tell me my licence is basically gone >havent smoked since this incident
Charles Sanchez
You skipped the part where you explain why they pulled you over.
There was no reason in particular. It was 3am, I was driving normally. Keeping the speed limit & all that. No special reason as to why I was pulled over. Guess it was just a regular cop control. In my country that happens rather often sadly.
Probably a combination of >it being late at night, middle of the week >there being 4 young people in the car >the cops having nothing else/better to do so they try to fuck someone over to get some success numbers in their reports
Honestly, I don't hate the police. I understand why they exist & that they have to enforce the law of the state. But in my opinion they should go for serious crimes such as theft, murder, big drug dealers & such. Not consumers of certain substances to their own body. It is not like I endangered anyone. I know that you could argue that I did, but I ensure you that I am a good driver with years of experience. I know my capabilities when it comes to driving & if I felt like I wasnt able to drive safely, I wouldnt have done so.
Owen Watson
>reddit video yeah everyone on Jow Forums can safely dismiss your post now.
Jace Bailey
>>It is not like I endangered anyone. >weed slows your reaction time >-10C road is likely icy and slippery >lol, let's get high and drive a car I mean losing your license is bad if you need your car for work but if you can't see why what you have done is dangerous you might actually not be fit to drive a car.
Michael Hernandez
ruin upon your house, you junkie degenerate
Jeremiah Fisher
>This Every post from OP is excuses or reasons why he was such a fuckwit degenerate.
Alexander Kelly
Same situation, 8 months. Tried to commit suicide while high on LSD, marijuana and vodka. >tfw forgot to undo my seatbelt >tfw not even a scratch fuck my life.gif
Levi Jones
Ye, have fun with your "moral superiority" because you would never do something as "degenerate" as taking drugs. Tbh, I expected comments like this so I'm not too upset. As for the road, no it hadn't snowed/rained so the road was fine. My reaction time on weed is pretty good, you're generalizing here. My reactiontime was still better than 90% of the 60+year olds, and they can still drive no prob. Also at 3am, there were basically no other cars on the road. As previously stated, I knew my limits & have let the car stand before if I knew I wasnt capable of driving. I think it would have done more harm if I let my friends walk for 45mins in the -10C cold.
But you can probably never understand this because you've never had that experience & thus think that driving when you're high is the same as driving with eyes closed.
Carter Jones
im sorry to hear that OP. i dont like people who drive under the influence. people can die. but losing your income is a death sentence, right? just be glad lyft/uber is a thing. i am nearly 23 and dont know how to drive. i can tell you its not too bad. i play video games all day to kill time.
Joseph Morales
Well I got a little ticket the other day from deputy Pig. I knew it was bound to happen but my registration was expired. Insurance was good though. He was just a dick. I was almost home too.
It's actually bad though because I have other legal shit I been paying for on top of this. Fuck that cop.
Chase Brown
>Ye, have fun with your "moral superiority" because you would never do something as "degenerate" as taking drugs. I will, by driving around in my car :^)
Carson Martinez
>complains about losing license >proceeds to justify driving while high gee I wonder why
Evan Williams
You can take as many drugs as you want. Nobody cares. People care when people are driving around high or drunk and make these pathetic coping lies they tell themselves so they dont have to face the fact they are a degenerate asshole.
Logan Russell
Thank you for a sensible post. OP, it doesn't matter if YOU think you're in control when you're high. There are plenty of other people who aren't and they still drive and put other people's lives at risk. That's why the law exists and applies to everyone. You should thank that cop because now it sounds like you are overcoming an addiction.
Chase Williams
Do you think anyone who has killed someone while driving while high thought they couldn't handle it? It takes a special kind of arrogance to think you're so good a driver that you can afford to lower your ability to react for fun. Kill yourself, faggot.
Luke Green
Did they know you were on all of that? Did they do a test? Driving isn't hard. There are two types of drivers. inexperienced/retarded drivers and sensible drivers who just want to get to their destination as safely as possible
Kayden Parker
>Ye, have fun with your "moral superiority" because you would never do something as "degenerate" as taking drugs. I don't condone taking drugs. That's your business. I occasionally smoke weed as well. I'm trying to tell you that operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs is actually dangerous behaviour.
>My reaction time on weed is pretty good, you're generalizing here. Has this been tested or is this an assumption?
>I think it would have done more harm if I let my friends walk for 45mins in the -10C cold. I was expecting this excuse. The real answer here is: If you can't walk home don't get into a state where you shouldn't drive home.
Ryder Brown
Bro who cares? How often do you get pulled over? I haven't had that happen to me in the two years that I have been driving, meaning that so far I got my licence for no reason.
Ian Carter
im sure driving is easy. personally im a neet so i dont have to drive. no job, no friends...no where to go. plus no gas money
Juan King
same here for 2 years, this happend after 2.5 years of driving safely. 1 year driving high basically every day without ever getting into a car accident.
Justin Gray
you missed the part where I said that I've been sober for the past 3+ months faggots.
Also in this state you will lose your licence if you've been smoking 3 weeks ago & still have rest substance in your body. If you've ever smoked weed, you know that you're only high after you've stopped smoking for 2-3 hours. So you will still get fucked even though you're completely sober in the head again, just because you consumed weeks ago. Compare this to someone drinking on friday & driving to work next week monday and losing his licence for that.
Sebastian Lee
>Im better than all the other people that drive under the influence >Excuse, excuse, excuse >Entire thread calling me a degenerate and not listening to my bullshit >Call them all faggots because I still think Im right
I hope you get your license back soon and carry on driving under the influence friend
Easton Anderson
>you missed the part where I said that I've been sober for the past 3+ months faggots. You lost your license for proving you aren't responsible enough for having one.
It's not gone forever but you will need to wait a bit before you can prove you are responsible again.
>Also in this state you will lose your licence if you've been smoking 3 weeks ago & still have rest substance in your body. You hide behind this argument even though this isn't what made you lose your license.
I don't think this is a good law and I do not defend that. Still I say it's right you lost your license for driving under the influence.
>you know that you're only high after you've stopped smoking for 2-3 hours You don't feel the high (as much) at this point. There are still effects on your reaction time. But you drove while actually and admittedly high, so that's not part of the discussion anyway.
inb4 muh reddit spacing
Jason Campbell
Boohoo you arent even on probation
Luis Hernandez
>Im better than all the other people that drive under the influence citation needed >Excuse, excuse, excuse yes, reason is a way to excuse behavior. So congratz on pointing out the truth instead of trying to actually answer the points with your own logic >Entire thread calling me a degenerate and not listening to my bullshit answered to 4 people calling me a degenerate, 14 posters >Call them all faggots because I still think Im right they called me a degnerate, so I call them moral fags.
And I will get my licence back at the end of 2019 most likely. I will stay sober until then. After that I hope that may country will legalize weed as it is the case for so many other countries worldwide. Or I might try & get medical cannabis so it'll be legal for me anyways. Honestly, it is easy to criticise if you don't even know the person or their driving skills, so yeah I do get your points talking to an user.
Henry Robinson
stop saying my country my country just say which nation?
Jeremiah Walker
What exactly does change when you know that? Its a country in europe.
Nolan Phillips
are those fuckers that are shy or scared or shamed to say which nation? Why are you fuckers so annoying and sketchy? What the fuck is going on in europe?
Hudson Ross
>Why are you fuckers so annoying and sketchy? What the fuck is going on in europe? Nothing! There's no reason! Mind your own business. Eyes on the Brexit, now!
Nolan Rivera
dont wanna dox myself too hard, I know people who browse here & if my work finds out about this somehow my life would be even more fucked. Besides, why tf do you care so much about what country this all took place in? It is not relevant to anything. What country do you come from? I dont even really care to be honest.
Jeremiah Foster
Austria bruh?
Benjamin Myers
>I drove high
you deserved it.
Adrian Reed
you sound like a whiny baby. own up to how you fucked up and learn from it. it sounded like you were on top of things from your op but your excuses itt make me feel like youre going to back right to smoking and driving when all this pulls through. i got a DUI years back because i was a dumbass and had a drinking problem. i would argue a DUI is worse but thankfully noone was hurt and i learned my lesson and got counseling for it too. i dont mind when peple call me a retard for doing it because its what i deserve. hopefully you get your license back and keep sober on the road op
Ayden Myers
Appreciate your advice user & desu, I dont really miss smoking and driving or smoking every day to numb myself and distract myself from my problems. I do miss smoking one with close friends from time to time though as something special. Or something like playing basketball with friends where the winner has to build a joint from his own weed, things like that.
I feel like weed shouldnt be illegal & while I feel like I am capable of driving after smoking weed, I understand that this may not be true for a lot of people, thus I understand why my licence is gone. Just feels damn stupid to see all these countries across the world legalize weed while the politics in my country still act as if smoking weed makes you a criminal that has lost all control over himself. All while praising alcohol as the best legal drug & seeing getting wasted every weekend as an utterly normal thing to do.
Kevin Collins
i dont know how you feel when youre high and im not even a huge smoker, maybe smoked 50 times in my life ages ago, and while i agree weed should be legalized, i still dont think driving under the influence of anything should be legal. there are enough accidents that happen with sober, aware people due to a variety of factors and i wouldnt want to add another on top of it. i also agree that alcohol is not villainized enough but thats just the world we live in where the product, and then the industry, got a foothold so early its damn near impossible to remove from the human equation. it does suck how youre not suppoed to have any THC in you though since it does last long in your body but maybe you could apply for a medical license? not sure if that would change anything though, a guy in my counseling class always talked it up but he was pretty retarded
Camden Nelson
yes thanks man, I'm thinking about getting a medical pass since that would make it legal for me & I wouldnt have to be scared all the time (even when I am not high rn but there is still thc in my blood from a few days before). Gonna be hard to find a doctor that perscribes it though. I need a good reason & an open minded doctor for that and even then it is not going to be easy. So for now it is staying thc-free.
Mason Perry
I do drugs all the time but you're retarded if you think weed doesn't impair driving. You should never drive while under the influence of mind altering substances because they might erroneously cause you to think that you're good to drive; many people who drive drunk have fucked up judgement and don't even realize that they don't have the capacity to drive.
Hunter Fisher
that's nice you feel capable of driving while high. but i think you need to get off your HIGH horse. LOL!
Carter Scott
If you drove high then go fuck yourself and stop complaining here faggot. You've got what was coming.
Jack Martinez
Around three years ago my 12 year old brother died crossing a road near his school. The driver tested positive for weed. I have no resentment towards you but you should know that driving under any kind of influence impairs your driving.
You might think this is unfair but I'm kind of glad your license was revoked for being so stupidly selfish. My brother died for nothing, just because people like you who have dismiss driving under the influence as non-consequential. Be glad you didn't injure or kill anyone while you were driving.
Oliver Sullivan
You won't change you'll just keep making up excuses until you end up in jail or in the ground
