Who here /skateboarding/?

Who here /skateboarding/?

I've gotten into it in the past few months, and I'm really loving it.

>Great cardio
>Really fun, even if you don't learn tricks
>Speedmog and trigger normie pedestrians
>Great way to get around
>Can easily carry it if you need to go inside or ride public transit, no need for locks and don't take up a bunch of space
>Can stop and walk at a moment's notice

Especially if you live in a city, skateboards totally blow bikes out of the water.

If you're not at least doing ollies, you might as well be riding a fucking longboard. I used to be really into skating before injuries kept me from doing it. I won a few local comps when I was younger. Neck yourself if you ride a skateboard and don't plan on learning the basic tricks. You look like a huge dork to everyone.

>great cardio good one.

if youre over 13 and ride a skateboard no woman will sleep with you. ever. also no adult will respect you.

Nah, girls like guys who skate. That's actually the male counterpart of art hoes. They fit together like a puzzle.
>No adult will ever respect you
Found the idiot brainwashed by boomerism. Paul Rodriguez, Brandon Westgate, and several others are upstanding, relatively normal guys.

I live by the ocean, so just have fun riding my longboard along the coast. It's really comfy

used to do it but grew weary of fucking my shit up. busted both wrists (righty twice, doesn't supinate properly anymore) and my ankle. had to get surgery for that one after which I called it quits. shits fun though

Keep in mind that skateboarding is one of the most sure ways to injure yourself.

Dork mode
Yep, I broke my right foot 4 times, my right wrist twice, and got too many concussions to count. That shit makes you pretty damn tolerant to pain, and really makes you push yourself physically. If I have a kid and it's a male, he's definitely getting a board and I'm building him a park out back.

I'm not tryna snap my shit up doing tricks. I just see it as a fun way to get around town

If you're good-looking enough, women will see all your gay-ass hobbies as quirky/charming

pro skaters have hot girlfriends pal

>>No adult will ever respect you
What about beto o'Rourke? hmmmmm?

Big cope my small friend

Not pro skaters are always single

>he unironically tries to gain respect from random strangers

Skating is great but it definitely doesn't fit into the aesthetic ideals of this board. Living the dream.
youtube.com/watch?v=LLjwoDMfMF0

I can ollie but skating is kinda inconvenient. Looking into getting a longboard so I can cruise down the lake shore where I live. Sound comfy

youtube.com/watch?v=lsU4XUdTDjs

I highly recommend it. Longboarding near the water is one of life's great pleasures

Is 18 too late to learn to skateboard? I've had some knee injuries in the past so my balance isn't great but my family has a longboard that looks really fun and useful to cruise around locally

It's never too late. You're a whippersnapper anyway.

I took the bait

Any tips for a beginner?

Nah, just be comfortable with yourself and have fun, man. I'm 25 and got back into it after an 8 or so year break, fractured my knee doing it last year, still can't wait to get back into it.

Practice getting on and off your board comfortably a lot. Start as basic as possible and really get that stuff down before moving on to your ollies, dropping in and all that.

Most skateboarders are comfortable enough with their sexuality to come out publicly as gay. There is the odd predator who tries to roll below the radar though and lure young sportsmen into their sick amd perverted world of degenerate deviance.
These are the typically identified as any male over the age of 17 engaging in a childs' activities such as skateboarding, videogames and selfies.
These perverts should be ashamed of themselves and confess to their crimes.

I skate a lot. can't ollie tho. but who knows if squats translate into whopping high ollies all the way to the moon

oops, guy takes heroin too

Nice

Haven't skated in a while best trick I could consistently land was a frontside flip. My best trick was a 360 hard flip on flat with a body varial I couldn't do them without the body varial the trick is just too fucking difficult I've only landed it twice. Rep KROOKED zero and indys.

Not nice if you get groomed by one of these boomer pedos.

>That's actually the male counterpart of art hoes
This is probably true as much as id hate to admit it

a reminder that nobody on this board will ever be as based as weckingball

I bought a pennyboard couple months back and now i also have an electric skateboard.
Shits fun in the city if you have good roads/sidewalks

Learning tricks on a regular deck is king of cardio tho + my legs look great

Post legs :^)
I live little sk8er bois

I'm 30 and like skateboarding.

I did it growing up. Really an interesting and challenging sport. Requires a combination of fine motor skills, balance in awkward positions, and huge balls to be any good.
I hope to get back into it at some point, particularly when I can afford to sustain injuries.

t. tech trog that never practiced tranny

just started again, sucks none of my friends skate

Then skate bitch. People who say "you're to old to enjoy life" are coping women or dudes that don't have lives.

what board do you skate? I mostly ride dgk

I don't live anywhere near where it'd be possible to find this much road without a car there for me to smash into, but this looks like an amazing mix of terrifying and fun. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe I'll do it soon. Sooner if I can find something used that's fairly cheap to decide if I really like the feeling of a longboard before jumping into a like ~$200 setup

shits hard bros

I completely agree with you. Unless you're good the zoomers at the skatepark will make fun of you.

My longboard seems to be of pretty good quality and only ran me about $130

I have a Sector 9

Primitive. What woodshop the board comes from is more important than what brand.

Ive thought about getting a longboard to go make grocery runs and shit on.

i fucking love this video so much
toy machine

Gotta love when braille breaks the laws of physics

Longboarding is way better if you're just using it to get around. Unfortunately my cities infrastructure is fucked so outside of a few nicely paved bike paths all the sidewalks and roads are death traps.

>great cardio
this is probably the only thing that is semi true. You are still like all casual bikers who think its good cardio.
As for being faster than someone riding a bike or even people walking, they could all literally out run you while you are trying your best to skate as fast as you can

youtube.com/watch?v=clBtEd631i0

Not on my penny board

youtube.com/watch?v=3muKBhPX26U

This guy is far too good for Braille.

Right here. Nobody skates around here anymore. Been skating since before I started lifting, now I skate after doing legs for max jello

Learn how to fall. Skate into grass, jump into grass, practice rolling and throwing your momentum to the side.

Also, never lock out your arms to catch yourself. It's a sure way to break a wrist or arm.

Mullen is in his 50s. He invented almost everything. I'm sure you'll be all right grandad

Be very comfortable pushing around and turning before learning to ollie.

Loose trucks save lives. Newbies commonly want their trucks tight because it's more stable to stand on but slowly loosen them until you are used to it. If you are off balance one way the board heads that way so you are more likely to straighten out.

Better to take falls on the shoulder or butt than the wrist.

>used to skate vert a little bit when I was younger
>nothing crazy just some lip tricks
>break wrist one day at like age 10
>a year after that I start skating again but lost interest over time
>pick it up again in college but lose interest
>pick up snowboarding 2 years ago
>start to do it a lot and really enjoy it
>last year go to skatepark and mess around in a small bowl
>after 10 mins fall and break my fucking tibial plateau

feelsbadman

Spent 10 years skating, I loved it and in high school I was beyond shredded from it, it's a hell of a workout desu I've been thinking about doing it again once or twice a week. We have a skatepark in my town with a nice mini ramp so I'll probably start doing that more often while the weather is still nice.

Marc Johnsons fully flared skate vid was and still is God tier, yeah right was pretty good too.

Your're a pedo

This, doesn’t matter how fucking mindless and stupid your hobby is, you could go out and scream in public every Wednesday and as long as you are good looking, dumb roasties will love it
