So long, Jow Forums

I've had many laughs and learned a lot in my years here, but the day has come where I can no longer better myself here. Instead, I find the opposite is becoming more and more true. I'll summarize the most important pieces of knowledge I have gathered here as a sort of thank you to the useful information that has been gifted to me via numerous fitizens.
>You don't get big from lifting weights, you get big from recovering from lifting weights.
>SS isn't a meme. It's a linear progression program and while not geared towards aesthetics, it's probably the best at quickly increasing strength and teaching you how to correctly perform compound lifts and why you should perform lifts a certain way.
>GOMAD is a meme. That being said, if you find it hard to gain weight and are not lactose intolerant, drink whole milk. It fucking helps.
>There is no agreement on how much protein per day is OPTIMAL. The pendulum continues to swing on this one, however, too much is better than too little.
>For bulking, 4 meals spaced 4 hours apart works well. Rather than snacking between meals and never feeling really hungry, it's easier to eat a big meal and give yourself time to get hungry again so you want to eat another big meal 4 hours later.
>Supps aren't the most important thing in a workout/diet plan, but they seem to get the most discussion. The Hierarchy of importance is Diet-->Sleep-->Program-->Supplementation

>examine.com is a good tool for quickly finding if there's any evidence to support a supplement's efficacy
>No one can tell you what works best for you. That only comes with experience. High bar vs low bar, conventional vs sumo, 3 days vs 4 days, etc. You gotta figure that shit out on your own.
>NoFap isn't a meme unless you don't have a regular means of sexual release. For god sake don't torture yourself, but if you have a girlfriend and would rather jerk off, somethings wrong.
>NoPorn is not a meme for anyone. You will ALWAYS be better without porn. As long as you remember that, you have no reason to look at it.
>Steroids aren't the devil and people who use them aren't frauds. The public perception is such that if you want to be a successful bodybuilder, you basically have to take roids and lie about it. That being said, they can take you to the next level or fuck your shit depending on how (if) you use them. Do lots and lots of research before you dive in. This is your body and your health you're dealing with.
>The pursuit of goals is probably more satisfying than their fulfillment. Be cognizant of where you are, how far you have come, and where you are going. Enjoy it. This is what it's all about. Your journey should be for yourself.
That's all. Thanks for reading my blogpost. I know its noob stuff, but that's when information is the most useful anyhow. Don't stick around this place too long, it becomes more of a burden than a benefit. Never give up on your goals. If it takes you 1 year or 10 years, just get it done.
Bye

See you tomorrow

>implying that anyone comes here for actual advice
Wait, do people actually come to this site for advice? Lmao

Excellent collected advice, deserved trips. Agreed on nearly all accounts.
Thanks for contributing a useful aggregate.

Frbp

so if I want aesthetics over strength, what beginner program should I go for?

>>GOMAD is a meme. That being said, if you find it hard to gain weight and are not lactose intolerant, drink whole milk. It fucking helps.
You literally contradicted yourself in the same statement. What the fuck. Nice advice dude Lol see you tomorrow

Noble words, hopefully backed by actualized action.
Godspeed, user. We could all benefit from checking out of this place.

>>There is no agreement on how much protein per day is OPTIMAL. The pendulum continues to swing on this one, however, too much is better than too little.

That's a dramatic mis-statement. This is a very easily tested hypothesis experimentally and there's a fair amount of experiments that have been done. That people don't read studies and then complain about shit is not really the type of informed disagreement we should give credence to.

Once you limit your search to experiments that last at least 8 weeks with people who have been lifting at least a year, 1g/lb TOTAL BODY WEIGHT (yeah sorry fuckers they use total bodyweight) is suggested as the upper end of the confidence interval for hypertrophy gains.

Even higher diets of 1.5g/lb and 2g/lb have been tried. Vs. 1g/lb you don't see increased hypertrophy but you do see a reduced bodyfat.

Obviously there are other variables for which optimum protein intake hasn't been tested, namely steroids and similar and also especially demanding lifting routines. Steroids should increase nitrogen retention in total, so the body will be more efficient with any amount of protein. Maybe gains don't really see an increase on roids with extra protein beyond 1g/lb. Maybe you do.

Anyone yelling about 0.8lbs being a limit needs to put a stick up their ass. Yeah, for totally new lifters it may be where a topping out occurs. Maybe most new lifters can't push themselves in a way to make use of extra protein. Whatever.

In any event, you're presumably getting calories one way or another, why the fuck wouldn't you aim higher with protein?

>Doesn’t post the study he references

How retarded are you? Milk is good for bulking in moderation, but you don’t have to (and probably shouldn’t) drink A WHOLE GALLON EVERY DAY.

If you’re drinking a whole gallon and it assists in a lean 500 calorie surplus to your TDEE, then it has nothing but benefits.

>t. 6 months GOMAD with no change in cholesterol

That doesn’t mean he contradicted himself you moron. Also a gallon of milk is 2400 calories by itself, if you eat like a normal human being that’ll put anybody way above their TDEE.

See you tomorrow.

>not staying on Jow Forums to mog incels and inspire newbie lanklets and roundbois
Good post regardless

>GOMAD is a meme
>but GOMAD works if you want to gain weight
So how is GOMAD a meme then? retard

hahaha thats so much sugar you fat fucks are chugging down

Post body

He says gomad is a meme, but milk can be good to gain weight. U dont need a gallon of it

>Steroids aren't the devil and people who use them aren't frauds.
