People don't generally know for a fact that their religion is true. The vast majority of them don't even really believe in it, let alone 'know' it's the truth. For most people religion is just a cultural institution and in this sense religious tolerance makes sense.

There's a difference between tolerance and acceptance. I can tolerate that Muslims believe in the same God I do, they just go about it differently (sometimes even by blowing people up, which I will not tolerate) while still not accepting their religion as fact. You don't tolerate something that you inherently like, you tolerate something that is in essence of itself annoying.

Christians are saying God is also Jesus, not that Jesus is some kind of new god to replace the old god.

The Christian and Jewish God is NOT the same as allah. Nothing about the bible or the koran supports this, The koran is completely incompatible with the bible which means they cannot both be the word of the same God. There are also many, many mistakes about the beliefs and fundamental ideas of Christianity in the koran which prove it is not the word of the biblical God, but more the ramblings of an unhinged false prophet with limited knowledge of Christianty. Islam is not simply annoying, it's a cancer on this earth that needs to be cured. Many, many muslims are good, kind people - but islam encourages acts of evil (i.e sharia law, child marriage, rape, wife beating, murder of apostates - the list is endless). The biggest victims of Islam are muslims, and I refuse to tolerate their oppression.

I am not Christian and I am not American. The bible is incredibly flawed and I don't like organised religion. He is not 'my' God either way. That being said, have you read the Quran? It states the holy trinity, God, that christians believe in is false, and consists of Jesus, God and Mary rather than the actual trinity of the father, son and the holy spirit, which is obviously a mistake on the part of Mohammed- oops! - Quran 5:116 . The Quran also says to condemn Jews and Christians, why would that be necessary if they all believed in the same God - Quran 9:30. And that Jesus was never crucified - Quran 4:157 And the important distinction between the bible and the Quran that you've failed to understand, is that the Quran claims to be the perfect, unchangeable word of God through Mohammed, the final prophet, that transcends time and space, the bible does not.

But in my opinion if you want to get maximum benefit out from Christianity you should become catholic.
