Trap bar shrugs are best imo but progression can be difficult because you have to deadlift a trap bar off the ground

Oly lifts, or power shrugs help. Your traps get built form the eccentric movement of a heavy barbell trying to rip your shoulders out of the socket

I've been following Jeff's advice and do pyramid scheme reps from 1-10-1 and it feels great
They're pretty much a waste of time.
Deadlifts, farmer's walks, barbell rows, and many other exercises all work your trapezii. There's no need to train them any further.
