120kg is pretty good for a beginner.
Once you start hitting twice that you will see butt gains.
A good trick is to wear women's jeans as they lift and shape the butt and make it look amazing and no one will even know their women's.
The only real problem is the VPL but that can be dealt with a few ways lol ;)

I feel squats more in my quads - squats = ass is an internet idea, you have to focus on glutes and squats do not do that.

It's likely a couple different issues:

1. You're more quad dominant in the squat resulting from potentially having your feet too close together and/or having the bar too high on your neck resulting in a forward lean, thus recruiting the quadriceps more than the glutes. Take a wider stance and get the barbell lower down on the back so that you are pushing up with your heels.

2. You should supplement squats with Bulgarian Split squats which are excellent at activating the glutes, since they are the prime movers for hip extension.

3. You also are probably using too much weight and losing the mind muscle connection since your quads are taking over and doing most of the work. Gear down to the bar + 50 kg and really focus on form and "fee" the glutes activating and squeeze them together at the top of the movement.

You're probably not engaging your ass correctly. When you squat think of shoving your pelvis back as far as possible, think of sitting back, not down. A good drill I like to engage in when trying to feel glute activation is standing upright and then sticking your butt out as far as possible while keeping your knees still, they shouldn't flex at all. Place your hands on your ass as you're doing this and you should feel gluteal stretch, to feel contraction just do the opposite and shove your pelvis forward like you are going balls deep in a qt grill. Next just incorporate this movement into your squat. Romanian deadlifts are also great for ass gains.

Once I started doing this my squat increased exponentially to lmao3plates all without any knee pain too. Now I can't even hide my butt with those big baggy shirts. It just looks like someone tried to cover a camel hump with a blanket.
