Question for Mexicans

Are Mexican (real) tacos healthy? I'm trying to watch my calories and sodium intake but I still want something that tastes good. I have no other choice but to eat fast food a lot of the time and Mexican food seems like the healthiest option simply because the ingredients are fresher.

No. Restaurant and taco stand tacos are not healthy. Here is my recipe for healthy tacos.

I don't fry chicken tacos. I bake them. They are still crunchy but really soft and wont fuck my teeth. And they are super healthy. I dont have to dab the grease away because there is none!

Prep meals are probably my best bet. I don't necessarily need Mexican food, I just figured tacos would be a better option than the fried chicken and bacon cheeseburgers that I usually eat since they're just a bit of meat covered in vegetables and fruit juice wrapped in bread made from a vegetable. I just need to stop being a lazy faggot and cook when I get home.

I'm not Mexican, but its easy to see why tacos aren't all that health. Tortillas are usually greased with fat and the meat is mostly fat.

I spend most of my day driving, user. 12 hours of my day are spent going place to place. If I don't prepare a meal before I leave in the morning, I'll have to eat fast food because I'm always on a time limit and I'm always outside. I'm actually not fat, I'm quite skinny, I just need to be healthier.

Forgot to add.. Make sure to drink a lot of water every day, and to eat a lot of fiber too. Make the meals small. Don't over stuff them. Change them up a bit too, or you could get tired of them fast. Walmart has good meal prep containers. Dont worry about dirty dishes. Use that fancy power ball soap if you have s dish washer. Soak all dishes immediately after they get dirty. Half ass remove large debree and let the dishwasher deal with it.

Let's start with the tortilla, basically unleavened corn dough.

Let's assume a basic Asada taco (skirt steak)

3 oz of skirt steak,

>187 calories, 64mg sodium

add one tea spoon of oil (that's what they put on the flat grill to keep things from sticking and to get that sizzle)

>40 calories

Let's neglect the cilantro/lettuce & onion but do count the salt in the salsa

>500mg (quarter a teaspoon)

One taco would then equal

289 calories & 577mg of sodium

So, I guess if you can pass on that sweet, sweet horchata or the clasicc Jarrito then you may be OK given you mind your salt intake elsewhere. !Provecho!
