Do these cuck straps work?

My dad bought me one after complaining that I slouched too much. Is this dumb boomer shit or does it actually help?

band aid solution that will only further atrophy the muscles that are already not doing their job

t.have scoliosis, am pretty much perma slouched because my spine forces my to and have seen specialists all my life for chronic pain

Lol, just do pendlay rows bro

Looks like something from a leather bar.

facepulls, conventional deadlifts and front squats will help more

These things are useless. Bad posture is mostly on the muscular and neurological level, just pushing your shoulders to the right place wearing some sissy bra wont do you any actual good other than making you look better while wearing it

I think you got the wrong door, buddy. Leather club is two blocks down

To get posture u need to work on 3 things:

- Stretch muscles that are weak
- Make muscle stronger by doing exercises for the muscle
- Get in the habit of not slouching

The straps only work on the 3rd one so if you dont work on the first 2 it wont help.

Fuck you

ill show you who's the boss of this gym

You fucking own one, YOU should be telling US

it's dumb boomer shit. your posture will fix as you workout. you CANNOT fix your posture in the long run but just thinking about it. do some scapular retraction exercises and your posture will fix in no time

Friendly reminder for everyone to stretch their pectorals daily to help avoid slouching.
Training back muscles is essential but it's only half the battle.

He doesn't even need to squat with weights

No. Poor posture is a result of muscle imbalances. If you hold your back in place using a device that makes it easier for your posture rather than training the muscles that have to do that naturally, they will become even worse at doing their job and the opposing muscles will work harder to push back against the posture device.

This. All of this.

I started doing yoga and my posture is SIGNIFICANTLY better after 3 months of consistent (~5x a week) practice. Stretching and strengthening muscles is key. Unless you have bigger skeletal issues, everything will fall into place.

I like the Sivananda yoga sequence. Very no-frills, no bullshit, and no airy-fairy BS that you see with so many yoga practices.

Skip the opening chant if you want/need to. I also recommend finding an IRL center for personal instruction before launching into your own home practice.

>atrophy the muscles that are already not doing their job
Absolutely this.
