Ok OP, you're gonna have to tell us why you were there. Were you convicted? Did you do the crime you were accused pf?

I was 15. it was for a "threat" I made in a source engine game chat. No charges were made just some community service

I've been in one, definitely at least once. I dindu nuffin

Over been pulled over by a hostile cop who was yelling for no reason. Does that count?

>yes
>no
>no
>no
>i don't know

what game, what did you say and why

Ive been in a witness interrogation room, does that count?

HL2 death match. Won't repeat what I said. As for why It was 3am and related to a convo with a friend earlier. It was a mistake

I don't know. I didn't do it.

I've never been in one because as soon as I heard a detective was looking for me I lawyered up. Police pressed charges, I didn't say Shiiiiit and I beat the case and I had the chance to sue for an unlawful arrest.

What did they charge you with?

my ex called the cops on me because i got drunk and banged on her door when her mom was home. i was 18. we broke up after that. that was 1 year ago.

what routine to get as much functional strength as that chair?

i was brought into a room once because they thought i robbed a gas station
>i will not answer any questions without a lawyer present
>i am asserting my 6th amendment right to counsel
after what felt like half an hour (but was probably just 10 minutes) of repeating that, they took me to a cell. i called my dad, he bailed me out a few days later and got me a defense attorney. a week or so later the charges were dropped.
it really surprised me how much different interrogations were from the movies. the cops were not hostile, they never yelled or anything.

>tfw going to police in a year
prepare to get dabbed on, druggy libertarians

If you watch interrogations they're usually very calm. They know a lot of legitimate psychological tricks to employ when needed. watch Jimcantswims annotated interrogation footage where he points out what they're doing

I've been interrogated by the Egyptian police and forced to write and sign a false police statement while visiting there as a tourist. Does that count?

What the fuck for? oreniglio

what the fuck could you possibly say in a HL2 dm server that was so bad that you were interrogated over it?

Attached: 1555682836523.jpg (300x286, 8K)

That involves being outside

I don't do outside

Admin reported it to PD as a threat. Careful what you say online. It's legit possible to get a knock

It started because I took a friend in our group to a clinic for food poisoning, and an idiot Egyptian cop seemed to get the idea that *I* had poisoned him and started questioning me in extremely broken English. It then escalated until I was taken to a room with five cops, the most senior being a major, who questioned me for two hours about my supposedly poisoning my friend. It finally ended when they forced me to write a statement declaring that not only had I not poisoned him, he had definitely not been made sick by the water or food either, and we were having a great time in Egypt. And then the cherry on top is that they ordered me to also forge my friend's signature on the statement, because they were too lazy to return to the clinic to make him sign it too. The middle east is a land of lunatics.

(see my explained story above)

No, fuck off and fuck you, nigger.

what if the police came to my house and interrogate me for why my parents are alcoholics while i was playing videogames? does that count

Kek, was a good laugh, thanks for sharing

Wasn't there some way you could have avoided it all? Wiped hl2 off your hd then denied all knowledge? Can they really prove that? Surprised you got community service over a threat in a game, must've been something pretty bad you said lmao.

Have you not heard about the kid that got 6 years for telling someone to kill themselves on runescape? Kek.

They're usually kinda on your side if they genuinely believe you're innocent. Isn't the whole 'no comment/ muh amendment' stuff counter productive? Unless you actually did the crime

Been there, done that, sent threats, carped bombed whole police stations email address list but because of why I did it; to protest non investigated crimes committed by police they didn't want to make any official papers out of the interrogation, didn't have to sign anything and they just sent me home after I made it clear it was the police acting with hostility and criminal intent

I vaguely remember it

I looked it up
pcgamer.com/uk/man-jailed-6-years-for-threats-made-in-runescape-finally-released/

That's quite an extreme example if you read the shit he was saying, but his sentence was a bit extreme too lmao. American courts don't fuck about, he would've got community service or warning in my country.

Reminds me of this too

thestate.com/news/state/north-carolina/article229288419.html

He got a load of statutory rape convictions because him (25) and a 13 year old ran off together. The sentence is 58 years and he'll need to serve 40 years before he's eligible to apply for parole. Just crazy to me that a 25 year old will be 65 before he gets out of prison without any violence or murder involved. I often think about how draconian US justice is. Aren't your people a bit concerned about how crazy your prison state is and the sheer number of people incarcerated on huge sentences?

my dad is a lawyer. not a criminal defense one, but he knows plenty of them and lectured me why you should always have a lawyer there.
basically:
>police can lie about what crime you're being accused of
>police can take everything you say out of context
>they can lie to you all day, but if you lie to them it will not be good for your case
>many times witnesses give incorrect descriptions or identify the wrong person because memories are easy to manipulate
>if you actually have pertinent information, a lawyer can relay that information to the police while ensuring it cannot be held against you
>you might inadvertently confess to crimes you didnt know existed, even if you're innocent to those crimes as well
>if you're actually guilty, dont confess immediately - a lawyer can usually get a lower sentence
even good cops can arrest the wrong guy, dont put your liberty at stake
traffic stops are different since officers have so much discretion though

Yeah but you can say stuff that can't be misconstrued.

"You've got the wrong guy"
"I genuinely didn't do this"
"I want to assist you officers but I can't confess to something I didn't do"

I dunno crap like that, won't it make them realise it wasn't you and get them a bit friendly as opposed to just stonewalling them with "no comment" stuff? Maybe I'm just being naive

>police can lie about what crime you're being accused of
Now, this depends on who is being lied to, if they're lying in their report and to court thats a crime

to expand on the traffic stop bit, officers can decide to let you off completely, give you a lesser ticket, or write up every infraction they can find, so being honest can pay dividends (but if there's a trainee you're probably getting a ticket either way). if you have warrants, though, keep your mouth shut.
if you're in that interrogation room, chances are you aren't going anywhere but a jail cell once they're done. criminals will say the same things, why should they believe you?
this is why you need a lawyer. if you don't answer questions they wont keep you there for 8+ hours.
the cops can lie to you, they wont lie on the report and (hopefully) not to the court

>they wont lie on the report and (hopefully) not to the court
Have personally taken cops to court over false imprisonment and retroactively(after the fact) sought home search warrant based on fictional information, brought the victim of original crime to court to prove cops are lying

Attached: dont_tread_ill_kill_us_all.png (1982x1133, 84K)

true, i guess i was talking about the good cops. with corrupt cops, a lawyer is even more essential

>prepare to get dabbed on, druggy libertarians
Do your worst piggy, last time I got caught I only spent 1 night in jail

I have, but it was for university campus police.

What's the story there user

Attached: Screenshot_20190426-035506.png (636x1048, 234K)

I was interrogated for stabbing my dad when I was very young. But I got off with the case dismissed on account of me being a juvenile, and because I was getting good grades in school. And my dad hired me a good lawyer. I still dont know why I did it and I dont really remember actually stabbing him. It was like I blacked out. I'm alright now. Certified EMT, still living with my dad. Pretty reclusive, and a bit still insane in the membrane, but I'm functioning well in society for the most part at least. I remember talking to the cop, I was very rude to him. He didn't deserve that.

heres some oc for ya lads

I was interrogated at my home by the fire marshall after an alleged arson at a school. While I had some involvement, he kept claiming I used accelerant, which I didn't. He was also so fucking fat that he broke our dining chair. That was pretty funny.

>your comment was not original.

My roommate got arrested because they thought he was planning a school shooting.

Works against you, there's a long lecture on youtube about it and that was the final point, you say nothing but the fact that you're innocent is the scenario
They pull up an erroneous witness and guide them into saying someone that looked like you was near the scene of the crime
You now have a witness against you even if you weren't anywhere near the crime
The cop then says to the retarded jury "You should have seen how he lied about being nowhere near the crime and repeated it and . . ." so on so forth in an emotional display
You now have a witness tha ties you to the scene (not necessarily the crime but proximity in the biggest thing to prove in a criminal case) and a cop proclaiming your falsehood, that's two witnesses
You're dicked for saying ANYTHING to a cop, don't do it, the fifth amendment cannot be held against you, exercize it always when talking to these dogs

>youtube.com/watch?v=Y_xb_JnXGeI

That misses the best bit. When he is talking to the news reporter & realizes he didnt get away with it.
allthatsinteresting.com/stephen-mcdaniel

>the fifth amendment cannot be held against you
you just have to do it properly
supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/570/12-246/
if you don't declare you are invoking your 5th amendment right to remain silent when they ask you a question, you can have this held against you at trial.
as a result, invoking the 6th amendment right to counsel is safer since the prosecution cannot mention you requested a lawyer during questioning, but if you improperly invoke fifth amendment they can use that against you during the trial

i know you're talking about james duane's video youtube.com/watch?v=d-7o9xYp7eE but he made a followup talk that explains the potential perils of taking the fifth youtube.com/watch?v=-FENubmZGj8

the last case isn't bad, a 13 year old cannot intelligently make decisions on their own.

>invoking the 6th amendment right to counsel is safer since the prosecution cannot mention you requested a lawyer during questioning, but if you improperly invoke fifth amendment they can use that against you during the trial
Does the police inform the suspect of their right to invoke the fifth?

they dont have to do so until you are formally arrested
if they ask you to come in to "clear some things up" or "help with a case", chances are you are going to be led out in handcuffs regardless of what you say. if they can get you to confess before formally arresting you, you might not be able to invoke the fifth without them being able to use it against you at trial, and they certainly dont have to tell you until you are officially placed under arrest - only then do they have to mirandize you and inform you of your rights
however, asserting your sixth amendment right cannot be mentioned at trial, so at any point asserting the sixth is a good idea, but the fifth is risky if you do so before getting arrested, and still risky afterwards since you can mess it up and have it held against you at trial

10/10 pic lost my shit. Needs a pepe/wojka edit

imagine getting paid for this, an hourly rate for bullying criminal shitheads

Already been done friend.

noice, somehow i missed

based. But there's room for improvement, maybe have the rage/tears wojak with smug pepe reclining and looking at the viewer. Toobad im shit and cant draw

i wuz in customs one after I had ordered LSD lol. actually was there twice

Yes, I have and I've also assaulted police before.

No one in the US is okay with the police or their idiotic sentencings. Every other week there is a mass demonstration against police brutality.
