How does one achieve the Classic lean body?

Is it possible to achieve David's body with calisthenics? It's not like they had bodybuilders back then, right?
Should I aim for muscular endurance rather than muscle size?

While the art is natural, it's completely idealistic. I don't think anyone in Greece was walking around like those marble statues would have you believed because they were ideal figures, not actual figures.

On the other hand I do calisthenics moderately enough to pass military physical tests decently and my body is shaping up really nicely. I think sometimes it depends on your physique and how your body really is though. I'd totally do a cycle like pushups/situps/pullups for a long time and see how you look.

Also, calisthenics are a lot more helpful and pullups are a lot more impressive than being able to lift stronk weight.

The first step would be to cut fat, The fastest and healthiest way to cut fat is fasting. Secondly you need to build muscle, My reccomendation is to start doing pull ups and push ups until you can do 100 of both each day. 1 gram of protein per lb of body fat and make sure to cook some seasoned bbq chicken with rice and onions sauce along with green beans, Oatmeal in the morning with brown sugar and a glass of milk.

Don't eat processed carbs of any kind.

Meant to say 1lb of protein per lb you have on your body not just fat,You should have a body like this after you are low bf% and do the calisthenics routine for a month or two.

it was never meant as a statue of the idealized human body. It was commissioned as one of 12 large Old Testament sculptures, this one being of the biblical hero of the same name (David and Goliath).

Considering it's based off David from the bible and implements the body make up of male from 16th century Florence. I'd say a good Mediterranean diet with good calisthenics, wrestling and some weightlifting involved

I don’t really have a routine I normally just go to the gym Monday Wednesday Friday and just do overhead pressing and front squats. I try to lift heavier each time I normally do 3 sets of 5 reps, followed by some random exercises I eat whatever don’t count calories eat cakes pie chocolate pizza etc but I work manual labor jobs and play sports swimming soccer basketball Played a lot of sports I think I’m just inclined to have low body fat which contributes to my lean look

Your ability to be fat, lean, muscular, flexible, all these attributes are built in with baselines and you can work on them. I fucken shudder when i see naturally skinny kids their parents have allowed to get fat as fuck due to anxiety. It's real common among poors. The fat just hangs off em and they carry it like luggage.
