actually coffee is a much more naturally derived source of caffeine, energy drinks are designed to give you the caffeine and a whole bunch of other shit hard and fast. I'm guilty of drinking them as well, but yeah coffee is probably better for your heart in the long run

I agree. however the problem with energy drinks is also people tend to drink them like sodas, but they aren't sodas, they just taste like them, so people tend to build up a tolerance. Caffeine is at lower levels in coffee than energy drinks, which makes since. Coffee doesn't taste good enough for people to just drink it mindlessly. Where an energy drink is easy to down, coffee makes you think more about whether you really need another cup.
