Hey, I'm black, how do I get one of those high-paying, low-skill jobs white dudes always seem to be able to get with no effort? Like I hear shit like, "My girlfriend's dad hooked me up," or, "I moved to Kentucky," and they get construction jobs that pay almost six figures with no college degree, but I'm gay and don't want to get lynched so that shit is probably out.
I just wanna know how my Bachelor's degree/almost-perfect SAT score-having ass can get paid as well as the dumb fucks who graduated from Bumfuck Regional High School with a 2.3 GPA, so I don't have to watch from my mother's apartment while they buy houses and build lives and hobbies and invest and go on vacations because apparently that's a thing that happens that Americans are just okay with.
>I'm gay and don't want to get lynched so that shit is probably out. They don't have this attitude and as you say they're well networked.
t. White guy who had every excuse why he couldn't do a job in his early 20s.
Nothing more to it. Other than absolute shit high turnover shitholes I've never got a job that wasn't someone I knew even very remotely recommending me over other candidates.
Apply for the jobs and you'll be surprised you sound like Gender Pay Gap roasties who think their gym receptionist job should pay as much as petroleum engineers.
Why were you not on a graduate program for your degree field?
Sebastian Watson
>Hey, I'm black Kill yourself. Unironically just fucking die
Caleb Lewis
im white and dont know anybody and cant find a job for shit
depot this dumb nigger

I got railroaded into going to an HBCU because my parents didn't save for college (they're both lawyers but a spectacular set of disadvantageous circumstances converged just as I hit high school senior year). I had a horrible time and was navigating a nervous breakdown senior year of college, so I just barely fulfilled my graduation requirements in time. I was not emotionally or financially prepared to go on to a graduate program at the time.
Because they offer something of equal or more value for that industry, so they get paid the same, fucking faggot. You must be lying about your degree and SATs, since this is just basic common sense and you can't grasp it, or are choosing to complain like the little bitch you are- which proves my original statement- THEY ARE MORE USEFUL, so they get paid well.
No matter how many degrees you get, you will still not possess the ability to perform well on a construction job site. The guys you're referring to probably take charge of shit and picked up the trade quick, or at the very least they work HARD- something you're incapable of- but with you being a nigger AND a faggot, I really shouldn't expect you to understand basic real life principles, since you life in ass fuck lazy "poor-me" land
Brayden Evans
You answered your own question in the first few seconds, you get it by being white. Finger crossed for next time OP, you might get lucky and win the race lottery.
David Scott
>i'm black >i'm gay
I'm half black dude, get ANY job i want in a 99% white environment. Just pretend to have skill, learn about how the social dynamics are in high paid office jobs. Adapt it and try to play the game too. Don't like the fact you're gay, bro. Get straight, fag.
John Lewis
>high-paying, low-skill jobs white dudes always seem to be able to get with no effort?
white guy here i have a degree from the top ranked uni in my state i have 5 years work experience it took me a year to get a [programming] job, and it's still shit pay to the point where half of my income goes directly to rent. there are no cheaper places to live
where the fuck do i turn in my white privilege card to get a decent job?
are you talking about N-E-P-O-T-I-S-M?
Luis Harris
Utility doesn't drive wealth accrual in a developed capitalist society, access to capital does. Hence the name. Being smart and doing research trumps common sense. ;^)
>The guys you're referring to probably take charge of shit and picked up the trade quick, or at the very least they work HARD Elaborate on what you mean by this. Give examples.
Yeah, I'm hoping on robot arms or furry gene mods and the associated radical social upheaval before I put all my eggs in the reincarnation basket.
Nah man cock is awesome.
Parker Hughes
>almost-perfect SAT score-having ass what a coincidence. i am white and also had the highest SAT score in my entire high school. i also got a degree
still, i have a shit job, there's no way i could possibly buy a house on this income
PROTIP: it has nothing, and i mean NOTHING to do with your race. at all
>hobbies get a free hobby
>vacations waste of money, i never go on vacations
i would say "learn to code" but i have 5 years programming [web dev, but still] experience and still get paid pretty shit
Jace Hughes
Nepotism generally works within ethnic boundaries, yes.
I guess on some level I'm just bitter that these guys got their full childhood and boys-will-be-boys adolescence, didn't have to suffer through the BS of the 90% of college experiences that aren't transformative and career-path-opening, GOT PAID for taking that easy road, and are now better off.
I'm resourceful, I'm smart, I'm moderately strong; my major defect is a lack of self-esteem and related discipline, but that gets fixed when you're given responsibilities and execute on them. I don't even know who to ask for a chance, though.
Carson Parker
>Nepotism generally works within ethnic boundaries, yes. not for white people. white people don't do ethnic nepotism. jews, maybe, but not white gentiles
it works within families. ie, your uncle or cousin gets you a job. this transcends race, your cousin could be mixed race, a different ethnicity than you, and then get you a job
>I guess on some level I'm just bitter that these guys got their full childhood and boys-will-be-boys adolescence, didn't have to suffer through the BS of the 90% of college experiences that aren't transformative and career-path-opening, GOT PAID for taking that easy road, and are now better off. yes but it's not a racial thing at all. in fact, being black, you have more job opportunities in tech and other things. i could have gotten a minority scholarship if i was black, but i am white so i didn't. it pays to be black
>I'm resourceful, I'm smart, I'm moderately strong; my major defect is a lack of self-esteem and related discipline, but that gets fixed when you're given responsibilities and execute on them. I don't even know who to ask for a chance, though. learn programming, they are always looking to hire blacks to fill up diversity quotas. very few blacks know programming, due to the 1 standard deviation lower median IQ
at my old job, a girl got a job basically just for being a girl, and a black dude did just for being black
white people don't benefit from this. i was always told i am the "best worker" at my old job (programming is very easy for me) but when it comes time to applying to places, nobody is interested at all
Jason Peterson
I dunno who failed you, because you should probably be in a much better position, but I don't have any problem attributing the ways in which you're still better off than I am to race, at least partially.
I'm sure you've seen contempt in the eyes of your older coworkers, as a Millennial, but never the pinch of confused rage that flits across their face as the notion that you're taking up the space of someone more deserving flashes through their mind.
Juan Fisher
>it works within families. ie, your uncle or cousin gets you a job. this transcends race, your cousin could be mixed race, a different ethnicity than you, and then get you a job Won't most white families still disown you for marrying a black?
> in fact, being black, you have more job opportunities in tech and other things. i could have gotten a minority scholarship if i was black, but i am white so i didn't. it pays to be black For the record, these are half-measures that only partially strike the advantage that simple whiteness confers. A $5k scholarship doesn't make up for a $100k difference in family wealth. (Also the full ride I got was open to white people they're just too good for HBCUs I guess.)
>very few blacks know programming, due to the 1 standard deviation lower median IQ You're a funny guy. >white people don't benefit from this They really do, though.
Evan Lee
>I dunno who failed you i do not know anyone who is offering a high paying job. nobody "failed" me
>because you should probably be in a much better position why?
>but I don't have any problem attributing the ways in which you're still better off than I am to race, at least partially. it has nothing to do with race. i am self-taught programmer. the job i have i acquired by going home from school in high school and teaching myself programming
>I'm sure you've seen contempt in the eyes of your older coworkers, as a Millennial the oldest coworker i ever had was 10 years older than me, but if anything they were simply astonished by my programming abilities ... which wasn't anything difficult, they were just so clueless about it that it seemed like i was a wizard or something
>but never the pinch of confused rage that flits across their face as the notion that you're taking up the space of someone more deserving flashes through their mind. that's because i was obviously the best programmer out of everyone. the boss recognized this, and i was just faster. it came easily to me
it had nothing to do with my race, at all
Cameron Johnson
>Won't most white families still disown you for marrying a black? not my family probably, my older brother had a black gf for a while. i think my parents would be happy if me or my younger brother had any gf at all
>For the record, these are half-measures that only partially strike the advantage that simple whiteness confers. there is ZERO advantage to being white alone
there is nepotism advantage, also wealth advantage. if you are well-connected and rich black, you are better off. these things only correlate with race, they are not caused by it
>A $5k scholarship doesn't make up for a $100k difference in family wealth.
look, doofus. YES, everyone knows the average income of whites is higher. but the advantages they get from this are due to money. that means, a rich black family gets these advantages whereas a poor white family does not. blaming it on race is totally irrelevant.
>(Also the full ride I got was open to white people they're just too good for HBCUs I guess.) i graduated from the top ranked uni in my state. and i still am living basically paycheck to paycheck after having 5 years work experience in the same field
>You're a funny guy. it's a fact though, use it to your advantage
>They really do, though. please name ONE (01) benefit i have ever gotten as a result of my race
please name ONE (01) benefit poor whites have over rich blacks
just ONE
Mason Jackson
>my parents [...] they're both lawyers
That's why you're so smart then. You inherited their high intelligence.
Carter Kelly
>why? You don't think you're competent and valuable enough for it?
>it has nothing to do with race. i am self-taught programmer. the job i have i acquired by going home from school in high school and teaching myself programming I'm not sure how your first sentence is supported by your second.
You can stop being contrarian for its own sake btw.
>not my family probably, my older brother had a black gf for a while. i think my parents would be happy if me or my younger brother had any gf at all That's cool. And the rest of the country?
>these things only correlate with race, they are not caused by it In what manner do you falsify the causation implied by the correlation?
>look, doofus. YES, everyone knows the average income of whites is higher. but the advantages they get from this are due to money. that means, a rich black family gets these advantages whereas a poor white family does not. blaming it on race is totally irrelevant. The root issue is one of wealth, not income. The advantages conferred by wealth trounce those conferred by income, and I imagine that the statistics concerning how much income and how well-educated black families have to be to access the same advantages as lower-class-but-wealthier white people would be eye-opening. For what it's worth, that was the entire thrust of the OP.
>please name ONE (01) benefit i have ever gotten as a result of my race I don't know you.
>please name ONE (01) benefit poor whites have over rich blacks Lower unemployment rates directly attributable to social and employment discrimination. Average black person has to have a bachelor's degree to have the same chance of being employed, in general, as a white person with only a high school diploma.
I mean I guess. I also received many opportunities. My success dried up around the time the opportunities did. So I have to think that others seeing potential in me is a factor in me achieving that potential.
Owen Ward
I think it's interesting that I asked a question about myself and it turned into me arguing for black people in general.
